Folks, just wanted to apologise about the embarrassingly ongoing website cock-ups.. I've just spoken to Woody and the guys over in Anaheim, who have valiantly dragged themselves out of bed with hangovers and are frantically working on this; fingers crossed they'll get things straightened out before too long.

Apparently the problems are mainly caused by weirdnesses in the database that we inherited from LOUD, which our new server code couldn't deal with... Other than that I'm also still in the dark as to exactly what's going wrong, but I'll keep you posted on this thread with any news I hear.

If you've tried to purchase and had a problem, don't panic, we won't lose the transaction! And please avoid emailing poor old Woody, who already has over 300 emails in his inbox about this! If you could post any new problems to this thread, that'll keep everything in one place and make it easier for the web-guys to check.

And to anyone who finds this annoying/frustrating, yep - believe me, I'm more annoyed about it than you! Aaaargghhh

Jules, FWIW: I emailed this to Woody (he mailed me first Wink ), but on the chance that it gets missed in his bulging inbox:

In My Mackie registration account I have a bunch of licenses, one for T1, a full retail for T2, and various beta licenses for T2/T3. On my tracktion.com account I have just the T1 license. So far, so normal. This seems to be common.

However, the license code for T1 on your servers is actually a T2 beta code on Mackie's site, which leads me to wonder if there hasn't been some profile mangling going on undetected at Mackie.

I mailed Woody screen caps of both sites.

Just an FYI in case this helps drop some clues for the web guys. Cleaning up foobared database dumps is truly a miserable task.

Jules,

welcome back to the fold, I'm quite excited to give T4 a spin. Just one suggestion about the website; can you make any pages that involve customer input SSL? As it stands on the billing page, I'm not getting HTTPS, which is a bit unnerving.

This is my problem - can't get in at all:

http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=5221344#5221344

reset password link is not working
christianmusicmaker - Fri Jan 25, 2013 11:08 am
I changed my email for my Mackie account sometime ago before the T4 release (successfully) but the Tracktion.com website is sending out an email password reset to my old email address. Problem is I no longer use that old email and cannot access that reset email. So I go back to the Tracktion site > click the password reset button > rinse and repeat.

I can log in easily with my current email and password into the Mackie account but for some reason that account info (Email and password) is not crossing over to tracktion.com. Totally locked out currently.Shrug

Thanks for starting this thread Jules.Thumbs Up!

Like many others, I have only the Tracktion 1 license in my tracktion.com account, even though I should also have a T2 online upgrade license and two T3 Project Bundle licenses. I'm not sure whether that would hinder me from getting a working licensed upgrade to T4 or not.

Wasn't an issue for me, my T1 license has now been joined by a T4 license. I didn't really need 4 licenses for T2 anyway Wink

For me though the email account I used at Mackie is still active so why aren't they getting through? I even sent a test email to myself using it to check for blocks.

My Mackie account is also still active and uses my current chosen email (I have no problem logging into the Mackie account even now) but like you the info is just not crossing over to Tracktion.com Shrug

Just attempting the upgrade from the new Tracktion.com worked for me.
Although my last upgrade was from T2 to T3, only my T2 information was recalled there. Anyway, the T2 information sufficed, and I'm glad to be back with T4! Smile

It looks like instead of PayPal being fixed it's simply gone away as an option. Will it be returning? Can I just send the money to TSC directly?

Ditto.

Seems the account page format is broken in Waterfox 16 (Firefox's 64bit brother). The account 'content' part of the page drools onto the page footer and the Save profile button is no longer visible.

I still can't login with the Mackie details. Due to the message above I've generated a new password but that doesn't work either.

Yea, This is a seriously BAD MESS....wake me up on Monday.

I had a Mackie account and tried to log into the new T site with the old details. The password didn't work so I did a password reset, which I received via email.

I saw only my T1 info there (but not T2 or T3) and decided to upgrade to T4 today. I did that and the new upgrade license shows in my account.

When I launch T4 to input the key using my new account details it tells me there's a license error and that I don't have a Tracktion account yet (which I clearly do).
I've also tried my old Mackie user and password and it tells me the key does not exist on the server.

So, you get the same error as me when you go to input your account details for the unlock?

So LOUD managed to find one more way to screw Tracktion users. Mad

I also can't log in to the Tracktion site with my Mackie account info. I am able to log in to the Mackie site. My Mackie login details have not changed in years.
I'll be patient and will upgrade when this is fixed. This is just info for the Tracktion team.
Thank you VERY much for getting Tracktion back in business.

Hmm, I wonder what the support forum on the tracktion.com web site is for if the developers actually seem to be more active here...

Is any one actually reading the problem reports over there?

In particular, I and other are having problems resetting their passwords, because the database access seems incorrectly configured. Details see here:

http://www.tracktion.com/support/forum/tracktion-support/change-password-page-gives-database-access-error

Just tested it again and the error persists.

Still experiencing license key issues, I have faith Jules & co. will get them sorted soon. Watching LOUD's incompetence over the years (not just Mackie, Ampeg too) gives me a sense of the bodge TSC has to wade through.
Mauvehead - Sat Jan 26, 2013 1:57 pm
Same issues as everyone else here. T4 says I don't have a Tracktion.com account. Silly Tracktion. At any rate, I logged back into my old Mackie account (I haven't logged in over there in probably three or four years I'm guessing). My password was showing as invalid so I had Mackie's system send it to my email address as I assumed I somehow forgot what it was.

The password Mackie had on hand was completely bogus and something that I've never used ever. I assume my account at Mackie got hacked or compromised or something. Not good. Not sure if that is it all related to the issues TSC is having with the user data Mackie handed over everything over to Jules? Sounds like a mess on Mackie's part. One more reason I'm glad Jules is at the helm again. Stupid Mackie...

What I noticed , when i go to unlock T4 its got my machine id or computer # from my OLD T3 license on that 1st dark grey screen , anyway that computer id # on THE OLD T3 had some uppercase then lowercase letters in it , but on THE NEW T4 on that dark grey screen its the same # but its ALL uppercase without any lowercase letters . I wonder if this is problem with it not getting unlocked ????

About the same I'd imagine. It'd just use ten times as much ink to do it. Wink

Still don't see my T2 and T3 licenses in My Account. I know I could still get the T4 upgrade, but I'm a little worried what might happen if my T3 install should get corrupted and I have to reauthorize (this happened to one of my colleagues). I can't move on fully from T4 yet because I'm in the middle of an album project.

almost the same here,(I can login with my old account details), my T2 +T3 licenses are missing,
and when I want to register it tells me it can't connect to the tracktion.com webserver ??????

it would appear so...

Last night, I was able to log into the Tracktion site with my Mackie info and buy the upgrade.
Authorization went fine, AU plugin scan went fine!
OSX 10.6.8
I did notice my T2 license was not showing in my account, but my T1 license allowed the upgrade.
Thanks for fixing this.
rivrock - Sun Jan 27, 2013 1:28 pm
I can't access My Mackie account on FF or IE it just hangs then times out, I can access the new Tracktion website but it doesn't recognize my email (which btw is stored in the 'about' window of my T2 install), so I can't reset my forgotten password to login...C/R copy protection what a mess.
JasonSpatola - Sun Jan 27, 2013 7:18 pm
Still can't authorize... Sadness...

@Jason: I emailed Woody, and he hooked me up.

Still encounter that Error 500 ("A valid license key was not located on our server.") when trying to authorise.

I also emailed Woody all my verified data yesterday, but so far, no go.
