I have just released LiveSlice 1.1

It's a major update with tons of new features and important bugfixes.
Two new banks are also released - the banks can be used both in the demo and full version.
The 39.95 euro introduction offer is valid until 20 Nov.
Check it out and let me know what you think.

new features:
  • horizontal zoom in slicer
  • save slices and tempo info as acidized loop (saves directly in the wave file)
  • mousewheel support in all hosts
  • mousewheel can now be used on sliders and menus too
  • grid in arranger - so you can find your way
  • bpm detection and acid import improved
  • faster audio import and improved coloring
  • middle mouse support (works as CTRL+RMB, that is: delete)
  • arranger workflow improvements
  • octave numbering system is adapted to the host labeling convention
(the note C1 in Cubase is called C3 in Fruity Loops and C0 in Tracktion1.6)
bugfixes:
  • deleted slices in first track was reinserted on reload.
  • right click "clear button" bug fixed
  • crash with loading some invalid wave-files fixed
  • bug when opening the same .fxb bank multiple times fixed
  • tracks were not being properly deleted - fixed

  • midi slice triggering bug fixed
  • changing the size of the arranger was disabled
  • other minor bugfixes

It's awesome! :)

I can only suggest to try the demo and buy this beast if you want an easy to use and intuitive slicer which has lots of potential not only in the studio but also on stage.

Wow - this is being developed FAST.
Thanks for that.

Congratulations from me. I am sure it was a lot of hard work.

Man, that´s support. New Release just in my inbox. 8)

Browsing, using and mangling loops is a breeze with
liveslice. I never used loops that much during sessions...

Thx a lot.

HI

Just purchased this - I need company for my other slicer's!

In my few auditions with it - it appears very straight foward and stable to use.

Flipper.

thanks, ohm! :)

just tried the demo of LiveSlice for the first time ... a lot of fun to play with and the interface is very easy to understand (I only read the quick-start part of the manual so far, but of course will read the rest to learn the details and shortcuts)

aside from the clear interface, a big selling point to me is the mapping of arrangements [loop variations] to keys on the keyboard, which makes it easy to change patterns or layer different groove elements -- not sure, but it seems this is the only slicer at this price that has this feature

and I see that it is multi-out, so someone could send their drum arrangements through one FX chain, and basslines through a different chain, with the odd individual slice going through "Spectral Heresy" or whatever

the demo had me playing for an hour without much instruction, and afterwards I was thinking of different things to try out ;)

this would be a bargain at the regular price, but I have just placed my order

i'm trying this out and one thing keeps happening, the slices in the arranger get stretched out all by themselves (like what you do with the pitch parameter). then i don't know how to get them back to how they were.
this makes me have to start all over again.

it's random, it doesn't happen when i'm doing any one thing in particular. ??

otherwise it's really cool so far.

can it be that you route midi-cc to liveslice?
check the settings page, there are the midi-mappings and it might be that there's a cc or note set to change the pitch and your host might send this command to liveslice.

quite right. i didn't pay attention to that part of the settings and it had several by default. thx!

Brilliant! I just read the rest of the manual and saw how much thought went into the usability

very cool to set a certain key on a certain midi channel to affect a parameter, e.g. to temporarily randomize an arrangement

and I just saw that LiveLab has its own vendor forum on KVR

thanks, I'm hoping it's so fast and easy to use that you can slice and dice live, on stage.
Some credit goes to my excellent team of beta testers and active users that are very good at pointing out little inconsistencies and flowbreakers, so It keeps improving update to update.
The next update will add live recording so you can record any instrument and immediately slice and rearrange the recording.
