raw recording from EVE 2 output, WAV file normalized and encoded as MP3 192 Kbs
the new one, you clearly hear the switch to AM
http://www.dashsignature.com/FM%20for%2 ... ith_FM.mp3
the previous one
EVE_2_one_note_sound.mp3
what's in it
Sound 1:
one note C1 played
sample used = MS20 Pulse 90% width
EVE 2 effects = soft Assym Overdrive + Stereo Echo
Sound 2:
sames as Sound 1 + EVE 2 LP filter with a small ammount of fractal modulation
Sound 3:
same as Sound 2 + EVE 2 internal (per Osc) EQ
Sound 4:
same as Sound 3 + EVE 2 FM with ratio = 1
Sound 5:
same as Sound 3 + EVE 2 AM with ratio = 9

Sounds very interesting for me. But then again, I don't know too much of synths (just doing my learning phase of really using and tweaking synths. I have a rock background, so I can't really tell too much about a synth.)
A guy with serious GAS and lots of unused VSTs. But if I someday need them...

we're all speechless after those demos. This sound alone will justify the purchase price . I really like 3 and 4, these sounds don't need layering to sound fat .

I don't belive you, LOLM'Snah wrote:we're all speechless after those demos.
thanks, yes that's one osc only, there are 2 more as bonus, <grin>This sound alone will justify the purchase price . I really like 3 and 4, these sounds don't need layering to sound fat .
anyway there are a lot of "VA filter critics" around here and I'd like to hear from them as well, <grin>
why peple should be excited only about new synths and not about the improvment of an old one!?, <grin>

The transfomrations were OK, but the sound seemed to get muddy like there was too much modulation and not enough harmonics (I think I get the terms right here).
Also I was expecting the final couple to be really massively "cross modulated" effect, but it was just another degree of warblings. The initial crispness was all gone.
That's my devil's advocate take.

thanks Cabinfever, surely FM and AM on multisamples
are not crisp as they could be in VA or pure FM synths,
but as I said this is one Osc playing, you may layer the same smaple with less effects and filter to let some clean high harmonics go thru the mix,
this mp3 was mostly made to show the filter sound
