At least that is my impression from the NIs forum. :-o Anyone got any comment on this? Maybe I´ll get a single core cpu for my k2-daw. (I will use Cubase SL3 on it too though.)

is dual core when you can run say cubase on one processor and kontakt on another?

Post

Now that sounds nice though. You can do that?

Post

i dont think so thats why i ws asking u.lol

Post

What I meant was 1 processor, 2 cores and Kontakt2 using both cores..

I´ll buy a single core processor.

well I think it is just that the cpu load is devided, so that each core gets a bit of it.
and I know the Cubase (maybe only SX) supports it.
The software must be able to support dual/multicore systems.
I dont think that Kontakt is aible to do it.
but when you run it in Cubase, it might be that you take some advantage of it.
Tho I`m not an expert for that.

I think you should ask this question in the hardware, setup ... forum.
or maybe in the NI forum, but it seems you´ve already been there.
