Hi all!
Can anyone recommend a good plug-in for accordions and bagpipes? I have tried a few (Hypersonic, Sample Tank, Dimension Pro etc) but have not found any of them truly satisfying.
Thanks,

Go to NUSofting / Dash Signature.
As mentioned: EMM Knagalis is the best for bagpipes (and all kinds of drone sounds like sitars), Peti is a wonderful accordions. Besides that I have a concertina here, but not in VST format .

And don't forget to look at NUSofting Modelonia and Marimka as well

Yeah, it's pretty tough to get a really great sounding bagpipe/accordian thing going now days.royandreno wrote:Can anyone recommend a good plug-in for accordions and bagpipes? I have tried a few (Hypersonic, Sample Tank, Dimension Pro etc) but have not found any of them truly satisfying.
Thanks,
EDIT: I do like the accordion sounds from Hexter (modeled DX7). They remind me of the ones on the "Northern Exposure" TV show theme.

Thankyou very much folks! I truly appreciate it.
Yes, these days loaded with new sounds, grooves, synths and pads make good traditional instruments hard to find.
I will check out your recommendations and report back!
Thankyou again!

NUSofting / Dash Signature indeed has cool stuff!!!
but i wanted to add, there was this free Accordeon VSTi a while ago, people talked about it here and said they liked it.

Ok, checked out the demos...just wonderful, Thanks guys!
Here in Norway there is still a lot of music that feature these instruments.
Being a OMB, I rely on great sounding backing to stay on top of things, and you guys helped pointing me in the right direction!

The Ueillean pipes on Kompakt aren't bad, although restricted in notes and slightly off-pitch for that authentic "the piper has been on the Jameson's" feel.
