Thanks the truth is i didnt find the link that helpful...i think that converting WAV to sf2 is more complicated task then i thought...i thought its just like converting WAV to FLAC or MP3spacedad wrote:quick search and here...

I guess sf2 is more common in sample packs...and less designed for people converting WAV to SF2
Anyway Thank you for you help

Would anybody be willing to make these VSTs available as one huge torrent accompanied by sound demos and/or a SoundCloud page?
This way we wouldn't have to deal with dead links, and we'd get to hear how the plugins sound like before deciding whether or not to install them.

baba: sf2 is a sample program format - it's one or a collection of
samples mapped to the keyboard, and referred to as a 'bank', as
it can have/has presets. (it seems sfz would only have the one
preset/program, judging by those pages).
sf2 are great, very useful, loads of them around, you can load them
into lots of programs+plugins, and make your own. check out VieNa,
it is free, and serves well as a sf2 auditioner.

It's always up to someone else....75ips wrote:Would anybody be willing to make these VSTs available as one huge torrent accompanied by sound demos and/or a SoundCloud page?

off you go then, but beware, there are a couple of major problems; Permissions and time.
We certainly would have difficulty with the rights to distribute a lot of this stuff.
And who has the time and the inclination to do it anyway ?
Click on my sig for the biggest public list with links for everything or if you are only looking for synths go to row 7 in that list. It's hard to keep up with dead links for obvious reasons, but the first option is to try the wayback machine and you'll come across a lot of those in my list.
And now I got to change most of the Gersic links now that he has reclaimed the site. But the good news is that most of the site is saved on the wayback.archive.org
I'm just glad he seems to be in better health.

Better to ask for forgiveness than permission, am I right?bob bobwood wrote:We certainly would have difficulty with the rights to distribute a lot of this stuff.
Maybe we could all chip in with some bitcoins to whomever does it?bob bobwood wrote:And who has the time and the inclination to do it anyway ?
That is one amazing list!bob bobwood wrote:Click on my sig for the biggest public list with links for everything or if you are only looking for synths go to row 7 in that list.
Any plans to convert it to HTML? Maybe something like http://motherfuckingwebsite.com/. Then you could slap a few Google ads on there as reward for all your hard work.
Sorry, who?bob bobwood wrote:I'm just glad he seems to be in better health.

Cool, Gersic is back? It hadn't been updated in a while.

Easier, certainly.75ips wrote:Better to ask for forgiveness than permission, am I right?bob bobwood wrote:We certainly would have difficulty with the rights to distribute a lot of this stuff.
Better? No - most folk around here have a healthy respect for IPR.

Well, if you can't figure out how long you've been here despite the fact your joining date appears next to each of your posts I am not really surprised you confuse on and off topic that easily...mztk wrote:is it 10 yrs already? good to see you're still here, eidenk!
Yeah, I am still around, thanks, and follow the usual suspects regularly but I've completely lost interest in hunting actively since I realized I'll never use 99%+ of the stuff I've already collected.
Cheers man!

I'm trying to find a copy of:
Elektron C6 Sysex Manager
For Windows, but a Mac version would be appreciated too! I realize this isn't a VSTi, but it's for my Korg M1 VSTi, and I hoping it's close enough to sneak in here without too much turmoil - if I'm way off-base please ignore or delete. The Elektron site no longer offers this program. Thanks!
