Here's one: Google the name of the plug-in. Half of those things are still available from the developers website. I googled a bunch of them and they were there.mztk wrote:xlnt! thanks spacedadspacedad wrote:http://www.datafilehost.com/download-fb5fcd07.html (http://www.datafilehost.com/download-fb5fcd07.html)

ok, well, i went through eidenk's list, and, shamefully,
i don#t think i have THESE: ( LOOOOL )
or don't recognize/not sure if have all..have missed some links, too..
these, AFAIC, are what could be considered vst obscurities.
( some i may just not recognise..in order to know what i'm missing,
i'd have to have a similar list of what i've got,or a better memory...
forget it.)
NB: there may be some obvious mistakes.
( how did eidenk produce that list? just hard work, or a nifty
listing app?)
so here it is, vst eldorado, briefly
glimpsed.. ( should take care of page 318..)
[mod edit: repeat of huge list deleted; read the original post if you want to see it]
any chance of an upload? hahaha
hey, links, pointers, hints, y'know...NO RUSH!
This threads almost impossible to navigate. It would be nice if the original idea- uploading VSTs that have since disappeared- was all this thread was about. It would make it easier looking for plug-ins that are no longer hosted by the original authors if you didn't have to wade through links of *EVERY* free piece of audio software on the internet.

I don't doubt his intention that all. But there's dozens of plug-ins there, and i would be very suprised if eidenk would have verified with the author of every software title in that pack. Originally, the location of that download included warez software- you'll see that in the original thread where that link came from.NEKRO.MACHINE wrote:... im certain that eidenk would not of got involved if were against any of the dev's wishes as eidenk is really straight up with regards to that man
The pack also includes the source code for all the plugs. I doubt very, very much that the original authors would have liked that. And i would beg the question, if they don't mind about that, why not include it on their own website? Or the PC versions, for that matter?

that necessarily ridiculously long post, lol, but the purpose of me going
through a list of 5500+ free plugins and saying which were of interest, is
to NAIL the ones i, and others, haven't got. i'm not asking ANYONE to just
blosh up a shedload of vst, obviously. the vast majority of this thread IS
just links, and people are mindful of the issues. in some cases, when things
have disappeared, it can't be a bad thing if it's made available.
i've only just been through it, and will surely use it to track down the
missing ones, but if i post with a wishlist, at least the appropriate people
will see it. right? the great thing about the free vst scene is that it is
free and innovative, same with cool freeware. check it out baby.
here, fr'instance, is a link i just found, to something not seen before, webpage n all:
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/thorin92/a ... erbv2.html
don't worry s'all in good hands...

Tbh maybe I would not have posted it if I had picked the link elsewhere than on kvr itself._____ wrote:I don't doubt his intention that all. I have not looked into all of them but I saw that quite a few of the original mac plugs included the source.
I am not interested in the source code personally but I find rather nice to have all those free mac pluggos available as PC plugins.
If you feel it is innapropriate to post such a link, please get in touch with a moderator so that he can remove them from all the threads they are in.

Many aren't obscurities at all, many are still currently online on their original website. Others on the wayback. and yet others available through this thread.mztk wrote: ok, well, i went through eidenk's list, and, shamefully,

Make sure the plugs you ask for cannot be found at all and I'll gladly up them if their license permits.
I made this list with my psychic power and the help of the elfins
No seriously, it's been a bit of hard and boring work to create a shortcut to each plug and rename it hopefully properly but it is great now to be able to look for and access any plug very quickly. Out of those shortcuts I made a list with a listing app.
So you know it all mztk.

Jimi- I did find the RGC High freq stim, and posted it a page back. Don't have the low, don't know how to repair exe's or add 0's.
Here's a plug I uploaded yesterday-Guitar Blasters. It's a midi synth, look in the wacko midi synth folder at http://runbeerrun.blogspot.com . It's a soundfont oscillator synth with an arpeggiator and a sequencer. It comes with a soundfont with guitars and bass. Intended to be used w/amp sims for wackiness.

thanks bro, look forward to trying it our when i get home, hopefully middle of next week.
i will look, glad ya got the hisfreq stim, i thought i had that puppy on my laptop, will have to wait till i can access my archive, sorry bro.
peace!
hey, i found an old SE project for something i have that needs a .dat file, do you think you may be able to compile it in synthedit?
i don't know WHaT i'm doing.
now, to fix stuff ala eidenk,
go here:
http://mh-nexus.de/en/
download the free hex editor there, HxD
open the program, and drag the damaged file in...exe, zip, rar, dll, whatever
scroll to the bottom of the code
type 0 (zero) once, (it will look like this 00) at the end of the stuff there, usually if it can be fixed you'll see a "blank" spot..
click save, and test it...
it will work or won't.
peace

I'm checking the hex stuff out, when I get time tomorrow I'll see if I can find a wayback low freq stim to fix.
I can compile a Synthedit project for you, all I need is the se1 file. I think the dat files are from windows98 so if I can do it, it'd just be a dll.
