Postby LoopyFruit; Fri Aug 24, 2007 7:16 am What's happened to Wizoo?

Is it true their products are no longer supported :?:

If so why are they still for sale :?:

Wizoo was acquired by Digidesign/Avid Technology and is now developing software under the name "A.I.R." (or advanced instruments research group). Most of their recent releases such as Darbuka, Latigo and Wizooverb W2 & W5 is available through M-Audio (a division of Digi). But at www.wizoobooks.com you can still order tutorial books, DVD's and material for downloading. If you're looking for info on the collaboration between Wizoo and Steinberg which gave us Xphraze, go to www.refx.net for continuing support and future upgrades. Michael at reFX is the man behind Xphraze and has taken on the responsibility of any future development (thank god). Hope that helps.

Wow. If it doesn't, nothing will. That's what I call a comprehensive answer.

Jesus...Avid is buying up everything! They're the Adobe of audio...

I can see it now: Avid keeps gobbling, then all Adobe has to do is swoop in and grab Avid, et voila: Pro Tools CS.

Yes, I'm particularily pleased at the added loading time - including fake "it's done!" screen - to Flash CS3. Way to f**king go, Adobe. What's with the 30-second splash screen crowd, anyway? Steinberg, Sony, Adobe...DIE!!! :x

(sorry, irrational anger moment.) :D

The splash screen is to remind you what software you've opened because the loading times are so long you're bound to have forgotten by the time it opens. ;) :hihi:

That's right: by the time I come here, have a couple dongle-arguments, have a bite to eat, I'm like, "what am I doing again? Oh! Right...".

Does anyone know if the buyout will affect Wizoosounds?

Just to add (though you probably realise this already) that Wizooverb W2 & W5 aren't supported by M-Audio, and that both have a bug that causes CPU usage to skyrocket on multicore processors. See here for more info.
