I was using my computer keyboard at the time. Using a midi keyboard fixed the problem.

Hi!
There is, but doing AU bridging is being a lot harder ( at least for me ) for several ( technical ) reasons.
In the very worst scenario, I can come up with some sort of AU plugin that can load VST's inside ( including plugins bridged with jBridgeM ), at least that will be of some use, I think.

This is OT from the recent discussions, but is it conceivable that something like jBridge could sandbox a plugin well enough to contain a plugin crash without affecting the host?

Actually, this can already be done, if the crash is not too serious. That is, if it doesn't also bring the main host down.
But the host needs to be aware of it ( there's a custom operation that it can perform to know if the plugin is OK ), so that it can stop it, unload it and reload it again.
An excellent example of this implementation is in Cantabile, which can reload a crashed bridged plugin.
( Of course, we certainly don't want nothing to crash, but it happens sometimes )

Thanks for the clarifications. I guess it's very difficult, or pretty much impossible, for a plugin to absolutely sandbox another plugin without involving the host.umd wrote:Actually, this can already be done, if the crash is not too serious. That is, if it doesn't also bring the main host down...

It's quite an adventure, when you don't know what the host and the plugin are doing... Definitely much more easier if it's the host to decide when to do that.

I'm curious what are the technical reasons why AU is harder than VST for this kind of thing? Anyway, yea if you built in a VST wrapper, then at least we could use jbridge with mainstage and logic and maybe it would solve a lot of problems for people when they are using a host that only supports AU.umd wrote:Hi!

I personally find it much more harder, things in OS X seem to change more often than in Windows ( Carbon, Cocoa, XCode, etc ).
But, this is just my opinion.

I'm having an issue with jBridge.
The browser isn't showing My Computer, just Desktop and my User folders. All of my VSTs are on a separate hard drive, and I can't access them through the jBridge browser to bridge them.
Any ideas? I've tried running it as Administrator.

Hello.
Enable the "reset browse folder" option when you run the bridging tool, that should solve it.
