See page 9, Dec 5-2010.

Ok, thanks, so it is not that old.

Did you watch the Vids in his comment I quoted?

Amazing. (IMO)

Yeah, those videos are nice, but only if we do not have to use the mouse for its operation. Notes, cc, program change, pitchbend events instead would be nice, meaning basic midi control. Also for saving and recalling snapshots.

Stop the bickering ladies!!! Always the same on KVR... People getting their knickers in a twist about a plug in is pretty absurd.

This is a great piece of work whatever way you look at it and the developer deserves all the kudos he is getting.

I would love to have this without 'Runtime' as an AU... but hey!

Peace to all

there is a bit of a delay, I'm sorry
there were certain functions that didn't work properly or half or buggy
I decided to leave them out instead on trying it to make it work, these functions were not a deal breaker anyway

but be warned: the demo will not be the "final" version, I've learned since I started this thing and there are things I like to change, in essence this means that the program must be completely rewritten and that will take time

so, the demo will have the same functionality as seen in the videos, saving is disabled (I want something to be left for its successor), but since this is a Max project some clever guy could work it out because source code is not protected in Java. to be honest, I'm not too worried about this, but I'm not giving it away for free either

what I will do (in time) is to upload the demo on the yahoo user groups:

Group home page: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/zyklusimprovisor
Group email address: zyklusimprovisor@yahoogroups.com

I could upload the demo right now but you must take certain bugs for granted, and the manual is not finished either.

I run "Windows", and have accepted that one must always "take certain bugs for granted".

I'm in no way averse to paying an "introductory price" for a pre-release version of things in which I see great potential, btw.

Even if that potential isn't fully realized (which many times they haven't been), it is most often worth the experience to some degree.

Hi bronswerk,

I just joined the yahoogroup; I am looking forward to working with you on this as I have been following this thread since early on and ready to demo when you are :)

Regards, James

Joined the group. Just curious to see how things are going on for this interesting tool.

Let us wait and see how long the delay will be for the first form of any release. Openly shared release so far: Zero.

I'll paypal you $50 for the beta, right now... and figure out the details myself.

I will try to upload it this weekend on the yahoo user group, see a few posts back.

Requirements:
- Windows XP (not sure if it runs under Windows 7)
- Java Runtime Environment (JRE 6 or higher) installed

Improvisor is purely midi, don't expect it can host VSTI's, a program like MidiYoke for connection to your DAW is preferred. It will come with a manual but that's not finished as I said before.

There are bugs but recording, playback, chord recognition and manipulation of sequences should work.

Also implemented, but that was a last minute thing, is a "Dynamics" feature. With this you can use the timing/velocity info from sequences from one slot to drive sequences belonging to another slot. Great for some rhythmic experimentation. It's not 100% working correctly and it will only work with monophonic material.

Uploaded the demo/manual on this yahoo group, see the Files section:
