I'm using vir2's, electri6ity (for kontakt 4) vst for all my metal guitar stuff. they're direct samples so you'd need an amp sim to go with it. I'm using guitar rig.

I used electri6ity on these two remixes:

Check out Shreddage (link is in my signature.) It's a DI library specifically designed for rock/metal rhythm playing. Very powerful + realistic, and only $49 for Kontakt format. We have tons of satisfied users and CM gave the library a 9/10!
Peak Rider 2: Advanced Dynamic Processor, now available!

Impact Soundworks - Electric + acoustic guitar, big metals, world instruments and more!

Ignore all these replies further up and let's start right... Are you looking for an effect, to put on a real guitar you play / record, or are you looking for a guitar VST instrument?

Yup, I figured same, as it was posted in the instrument forum, BUT, also considered the fact that he's pretty new to KVR and might be nw to production in general...
