You can answer with Y/N, that's all I need

Can I use?
  • 1. all sort of line/curved automation on a MIDI channel or buses/sends
    2. record the month's synth and use the audio in drum-machines?
    3. use Resonators from Ableton Live?
    4. use pitch automation (ie: for buildups, rises)
    5. use Grain Delay from Ableton Live
    6. use Max2Live Effects?
    7. use Vocoder from Ableton Live
    8. use Corpus from Ableton Live

#1 yes
#2 no (as that's one shot sampling. Maybe record several drum hits, and render that as a wav if need be, so there is some subtle variation.)

#3 maybe (as long as it doesn't change the original sound too much)
#4 yes (only if you are automating the synth's pitch, not the DAW or some effect)
#5 no (as it is sampling)
#6 maybe (IF they are free for other max2live users)
#7 usually no (only if it's in the synth, as it's sampling)
#8 maybe (only if you are not pitching the sound at all)

I do ;) To me it's the best synth that's been released in quite a while - soundwise. Arc rules ;)

Some suggestions for future OSC synths:

- Tone2 Firebird: this thing simply begs to be OSC-ed.
- Revisit Synth1, as it now has a Mac version.
CrimsonWarlock aka TechnoGremlin, using Reaper and a fine selection of freeware plugins.

Firebird would really be an awesome choice.

never got to thank you bjporter.
I'm in this month!
Thanks.

Wow I didn't know there was a Mac version of Synth1. Definitely something to consider even if it's already been on twice in OSC..

And for future reference, in case Archive.org goes belly up, all OSC tracks are backed up here.

And also here.

Synth1 certainly deserves a new OSC, I think it also got updated functionally on some points in the meantime.

EDIT:

Just checked; last Synth1 OSC was version 1.07, we got 5 updates since.

Some stuff added after 1.07:

- A phase control function was added.
- The number of the polyphonic was expanded to 32.
- The number of the unison voice was expanded to 8.
- The sub oscillator was added.
- The saw wave was changed from rising type to the descent type.
- The accuracy of the envelope of Amplifier has been improved.
- High-pass/Low-pass filter was added to Delay's feedback loop.

All good alternatives and maybe it really should be time for an Angular Momentum synth soon, they are very solid. But for a trance type synth, isn't T-Force Alpha the better choice at the moment? Also the Elektrostudio synth line has some very good stuff still not used but then polyphony is an issue, but so has Rez.

Within the rules?

Can I run multiple hosts simultaneously into this "Commercial" software from DDMF

with the idea of recording the output. That output would most likely complete the arrangement phase of the song with only a final mix needed to get eq and levels in check.

Micromoon and Sixth Month June would be interesting, since they're polyphonic, have a noise generator and, of course, sound amazing.

I am enjoying Kalensky's latest version of KX-PolyM-CSE based on the Yamaha CS80. Other opinions on his many free synths?
