Me too!! :D

I don't know what can I say.. I am very happy with this new Juno 106..
This will remain at my best synth list forever.
So much Thanks..
I like music

I will push this thread ad infinitum. I LOVE this synth!
Can i donate or something? This offering of yours has just impressed so much.
And i have checked quite a lot of synths in my time.

wow, thanks. very chuffed by your comments.
it has a couple of little glitchbugs which i could sort
out now(the tranpose is a pain).
pure synthedit, and made with a lot of love for the original
(which i don't have anymore, longtime), and the interface.
i remembered how hitting the patch buttons was a big part of
using a juno, so it had to be there.
if you like this, check out the re-ups thread for recent versions
of a synth called (sim-3x)

'Chorus is good but I thought the sound kind of "bounced" rapidly between the extreme left and right rather than just creating a stereo thickening effect. Maybe it's just because it's late at night and I was using headphones'

no work done on chorus yet. really very arbitrary settings used, i admit:
my last JU was an alpha1, where you could adjust the settings, and i just
chose 2 settings that sounded different and usable.

trouble is, a bias to one side is introduced. i don't know if this is normal
phenomenon, or a fault in my circuit. also don't know too much about phase
yet, so any help there is appreciated ;)

'Juno Grand piano'...  yeah i just did it according to the size
of the graphic i made for the keys. thought more keys wouldn't hurt.

Any news on this?

Brilliant!!!
I think it sounds really good.
Love Preset 5 Bank A with simple chords and a delay.
Chorus is very different though as other have said, but I do like the chorus sound.
Great synth you have created here.
Well done :)

any more news on what? :D

ugh, dunno if i can face attacking this one again...
only kidding, but i did look at it for a long time,
and to be honest, i haven't touched it since.

what i have done though (='news'), is start a project
i called 'sim-3x' ('sim' +3x Osc/DCO...), which is closely
related to the Juno thing. there's a v.0.157, with a grubby
but sort-of-ok GUI, and a v.0.133 with a (...)'blue digital'
GUI. the second one features osc sync modes, and the first
one was the first evolution from the DCO-6 project.

this isn't any attempt at a 'clone', visually or in terms
of accuracy, but i'm just shooting in the general direction,
and it does some nice things, and is a bit tighter than the
DCO-6, because i learnt a few things in the meantime, and
haven't tried to do fancy patch-changers, etc. and i'm not
placing myself under pressure to do an exact clone, which,
really, is anti-creative and adds a whole new dimension to
trying to produce a viable virtual synthesizer.

so, i'm still working on this sim-3x, and it has evolved
quite a bit since these versions:
you can find the v.0.133 here:
http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=342430
and the v.0.157 somewhere around here:

(f###, i just deleted my post...oh no, it's still there :D )

yeah, well in fact, it does need a rework: the
transpose has to be changed, there's another method
for this. and it could do with a proper banks of patches.

it won't be updated just yet. if anyone wants to make
requests or suggestions in the meantime, they'll be taken
into account when i get time/headpsace to attack it again.

was wondering whether to do a much bigger gui, like a rack,
and maybe ditch the patch buttons, but i think they are
intrinsic to 'juno'. i guess i maybe rushed the end of this,
since it is the hardest part, actually completing a plugin.
suddenly you have to make it perfect, and all the little
niggling problems you've lived with through the build have
to be resolved.

Post

if you need to simplify/rebuild your GUI in rack format
why do not watch the MKS-50 and around ?

mm.
could lose the keyboard. or have two versions, or
a keyboard that could be hidden-but would not reduce
GUI size-
tbh, i'm nowhere near the accuracy that could distinguish
between ju 106 and alpha!!! and i don't think this sounds
like the alpha due to lack of waveform shapes.
there is a very nice juno106 site with nice colours, so a
very flat graphic with a good-sized layout, could be good.
that's my 'rack' idea. (but it would end up looking like a
large flintlock :DDD )
i no longer think it is crucial to have a small compact GUI.
you have to be able to see it. pretty pictures of keyboards
are not important(but they really do help with the feeling of
interaction).
really, i need to fix the faults in this, and wrap it up, is all.
but now is the time to make requests, etc.

This sounds lovely!

I'm hoping to use it when i play out live running on a netbook with a Korg Nano Kontrol to control the sliders set up in reaper. Fingers crossed!

I noticed you are looking for suggestions in your post above.

The only complaint i have it the pitch bend is too wide at its lowest setting (a whole octave) and it sounds a little steppy.

Other than that, awesome!

Hey there! Love and appreciate the work you did here - sounds really good to me. I wanted to know if this is the most current version available. Did you ever update it? I'll be happy either way but I wanted to get the "best" version of it if there was more than one.

Thanks!

I hate to bump threads from the dead, but this synth is incredible and the best Juno 106 free vst I can find. Like others, I owned one decades ago and it instantly brought me back. Any chance of resurrecting (or sharing sources?) for this project - maybe even just for the filter fixes?

I did get the sim-3x which has some nice sounds to it but at first listen it didn't grab me like the dco did.

Yes, love this synth. :)
