Just tried the demo:

http://www.nusofting.liqihsynth.com/entity.html

So far I'm really impressed with the pre-sets, although it would be nice to demo all of the modules as the sounds cannot be properly tweaked yet.

Sounding good though :)

Sounds good indeed, but the demo is too limited. Hope there's soon a more functional demo. I don't buy synths only after listening to presets.

i was hopping to like this one...but i didnt....really disliked the ui and the sound. i only tried the presets though. maybe its just a question of bad sound design... or maybe ive checked the wrong presets...anyhow ill pass this one.

I agree. :?
Image I am sorry, I am not a native English speaker.

Funny, how people like different sounds 8) I find that many synth presets start to sound similar against the competition and I just start to think yea, yea, yea, heard it, yea, yea, oh that sounds interesting and original, then yea, yea heard it. Eventually it's going to become more difficult to create new WoW sounds in the sea of sound design - not sure where that's going? Synths that boast yet another XXX gigabytes worth of samples or 500 presets, but I think that this synth stands out as it has some real character of its own which is what sets hardware synths apart :)

Hi everybody! Thanks Hemmick Reef for starting this

I just discovered this thread and it's driving me mad, <wink>

Thanks guys. But looks like there's something I don't know, the demo should be limited like the other NUSofting products:
- no save and audio timeout after 20 minutes -, beside that it should allow you to tweak and try any parameter.
Maybe there's something wrong in the build we've uploaded?

Entity is very flexible but still can't do every possible sound in this world, so it may not be able to do what fits your taste.
But if you checked only a subset of the presets and didn't tweaked it you'll never know.
As said above if the demo can't be tweaked enough we'll update it.

True that so far we have only presets by tho authors (me and TeamDNR's Reason Lahalla), anyway they are 180 already

Some sounds from Entity:

http://dashsignature.com/mp3/Possiladacomelopa.mp3
not representing the whole anyway

About the GUI an update was already planned with something like this
http://dashsignature.com/entity/Entity_Branis.png
currently the Entity graphics are not great but at least simple and usable to me.

Let me say that this is a huge synth for the small price it has now : 48 USD, its target will be around 100 USD,
as explicitly wrote in the press release we needed to set it on sale to further fund the project, these times we can't work two years on a plugin
before releasing it. By my point of view that should also give us the opportunity to refine and polish the synth in the direction set by the users feeback.

The new UI looks really good btw. will try!

Good ones, <grin>, and that's also why I don't care very much today about sounding "right" (to what?), Entity has hopefully it's own sound, like it or not, I surely do like it!

Now please tell me what's up with the demo,
I seem to be able to edit each and every parameter in it.

Thanks

I overlooked something: There's an edit and browsertab left.

Excuse me!

I find the majority of softsynths create the same sort of sounds, it's nice when something sounds a little different.

Sorry, I didn't notice the tabs on the side - got it now though.

Great, maybe I should put more highlight on those "unusual" tab buttons, <grin>

Please let me know any other comments you have on Entity usability and sound.

Thanks

Hi all,

you might be interested in these audio demos,
100% Entity sounds only,
http://dashsignature.com/entity/drums_e ... _synth.mp3

Above you can listen to percussions synthesized using Entity,
also the effects are the Entity ones.

The sound variations are made automating a few Entity parameters,
filter, envelope Decay and especially the noise osc Downsampler.
Two instances are used in this demo, one for all drums and one for the hihat sound.

Here are the drums presets
http://dashsignature.com/entity/entity_ ... resets.zip
simply extract the files where the other *.entpreset are

Below just some random playing recorded live with various presets.
