A granular synth without sample import defeats the purpose completely...
I wish this is going to be possible because the sound quality seems very high.

Agreed. Speaking of which, has anyone tried the latest Halion expansion packs?standalone wrote:I bet that they plan to sell expansion packs with new samples.

Totally agree. Doesn't make sense (except for buying their own libraries of course )teomi wrote:A granular synth without sample import defeats the purpose completely...

Not if the included library is sufficient.teomi wrote:A granular synth without sample import defeats the purpose completely...

Not meaning to hijack this thread, as this does look like a nice synth - but - I agree that without being able to import YOUR OWN samples... well, try this:Neon Breath wrote:Totally agree. Yup, I have Triewerk and Hypnotic Dance. Both are really good actually. Vengeance type stuff, well produced and sits in a mix beautifully.Uncle E wrote:Agreed. Beautiful! Thanks! When you say "Vengeance type stuff", do you think they're in the same quality range as Nexus2?pepelogu wrote:Yup, I have Triewerk and Hypnotic Dance. Both are really good actually. Vengeance type stuff, well produced and sits in a mix beautifully.

I suppose it depends on the library - after all Omnisphere is also a granular synth without import. I have more confidence though in the depths of a Spectrasonics library than I do Steinberg's though and would ideally prefer import. I wonder if Steinberg are planning in a few months to release a big brother version with import and get us all to crossgrade once hooked?teomi wrote:A granular synth without sample import defeats the purpose completely...

I certainly won't buy it if I can't import my own samples. It would really be completely useless -> for me <- (Same thing with Omnisphere by the way).

Using Motu MachFive3 with the IRCAM Granular with sample import is real fun, the same with the Kyma from Symbolic Sound I am allowed to use from time to time.
A PresetGranularSynth makes no sense at all!
my two cents

The GUI looks a lot like Waldorf Lector. If they were involved the included samples could be very good, but shame there's no import. I'll definitely be demoing as the price is surprisingly reasonable for Steinberg.
