Latest issue of Beat didn't come with a pocket calculator, but with a pocket calendar, where they promise monthly free downloads, and today is the first launch, 670 MB of this:

Um, what am I missing here? On Beat's Facebook page there's still the old Riot bank available for download, and on Zampler's website, no doanload link. So...where can we download this one from?

Subscribers might get first access, and then hopefully it will be made available for all later?idfpower wrote:Oh, I see...so for Beat subscribers only Ok, thanks for the info
I almost missed this myself, I thought the calendar was just some promo booklet, but it was more
Anyway, it's not their best giveaway yet, it contains 30 sfz patches, mostly keys/organs, but some bass and guitar patches too, so this one is like a swiss army knife for the bar room pianist

Zampler should reeeeeeaaaally go 64 bit if it wants to gather further interest. I had it on my disk and even used it sometimes, but more and more I switch to 64 bit only because it is just more stable.
Zampler is still causing occasional crashes for me.

Maybe...based on what you're saying it seems it's similar with the older free Zampler banks that had only a handful of presets - which makes their choice even stranger. I thought they release big packs for subscribers and small chunks for freeloaders, but this...I don't know. It sure doesn't sound like what I was previously informed they'd do for Zampler - bigger free available banks based on hardware sampling...anyway, we'll see.Numanoid wrote:Subscribers might get first access, and then hopefully it will be made available for all later?
Such a shame though...they have a gem of a plugin but they still keep it under locked key...no wonder most of the time it's not even mentioned when ppl ask for a sfz player (in spite of also being able to read REX files)...

Zampler is stable as a rock in my DAW, on my Win 7 64 bit setup.CableChannel wrote:Zampler should reeeeeeaaaally go 64 bit if it wants to gather further interest. I had it on my disk and even used it sometimes, but more and more I switch to 64 bit only because it is just more stable.

Compared to other freeware SFZ players, I prefer Zampler. Sforzando could be good, but there is no content for it, for Zampler I get new content every month, and there are lots of freebies also released by Beat at Beat Drive and Facebook.
For Sforzando there was one pack back in 2012, and since then nothing particularly made for it.
Alchemy Player is also good, but I find Zampler much more hands on and easy to use.

tx16wx also loads SFZ, might be worth a look
not sure how accurately though, i've found some plugins support more elements of SFZ than others.

I forgot to add tx16wx I really like the latest version which is much more stable on my system, than earlier versions.
That is lining up to maybe taking over my no 1 spot, especially as it allows for stacking of patches, something which Zampler can't do

Well it was about time to be offered some more freebies: the "Anaconda" bank is (finally) available on Zampler.de, as well as what seems to be a new bank (or at least I didn't know about it): "Noise Factory EDM Zampler Vol.1" - this one includes some killer aggressive basses, leads and some nice sequences (64 presets in total). One of the best Zampler banks to date for sure

Check out the latest release from Smooth:
http://www.cyan-music.com/releases-033.html
I believe Cyan Music are the ones producing libs for Zampler, so Marco Köller (Smooth) is probably using a bit of the sound in his music.
I like this stuff a lot, nice chilled dub-techno

To whom it may interest: I've just uploaded an audio demo for ZAMPLER-RX on Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/telurica/zampler-rx-demo
I've tried to limit mainly to the Zampler banks that available for non Beat subscribers as well; the demo includes presets from the following: "Anaconda", "Bass Station II-Yang", "Black Mamba", "Brrzzl", "Commodore 64 Synthesizer Sessions Deluxe", "Electro Riot", "Noisefactory EDM Zampler Vol.1", "Orbit", "Pittsburgh Raw" and "Zampler Demo Library".
