I've been real busy with amSynth in the last months, but I'm starting to work a bit on WhySynth now.

What I thought were envelope limitations on pitch, filter, etc, are actually available, but I had to learn it by looking at another voice that used them.

In essence, WhySynth has a similar layout as SQ8L, in that you have to go to different pages in order to access the envelopes.
At the moment, I have a handful of patches made, but I'd also like to see if I can make a quick video (with kdenlive) to put up on youtube. I just need a few more days to really get a handle on the synth.. it's beastly!

Here's a diagram by the developer of WhySynth, thought it might be useful:

And a type of "manual" that can be VERY useful:

And the list of almost 170 different waveforms for the 4 oscillators:

The world is better served with you creating great sounds,
rather than making fun of underdogs.

These days, many people have more than on PC around the house. I can run WhySynth very nicely on a 10-yr-old PC with only 1GB of RAM. Just install something like "BodhiLinux" on the PC, then install WhySynth.

Freedom is a great thing!

If you'd like a bootable linux usbstick, with such linux synths ready to go,
pm a shipping address. Probably takes some time for a mail from U.S to Germany,
but there's no hurry, the Mayans next doomsday is far in the future :hihi:
