btw last week coincidence i made a request for a vocoder based on 0dff.
i assume this one will be, right?
if so for some uses im sure it will be preferable to current sowftare vocders on the market (which don't do vintage robotic very well)

indeed, dont think ive ever put vocals through any of my vocoders? babys laughing and crying or babbling, people screaming or crowd noises would probably be the closest to vocals for me. but more often than not its guitars or other synths eg a sequence from the modular to give a gated choir effect, stuff like that.Lotuzia wrote:Very true, plus actually you can use whatever signal you want to feed the input of a vocoder. It can give some very surprising results, from ultra smooth to really weird.himalaya wrote:They could have used VP330's choirs and strings more than its vocoding.Numanoid wrote:
Have Tangerine Dream used much vocoding in their music?

Will it be ilok protected?benburling wrote:Just had an email from XILS..
From some time, we have been hinting that something new would come from the depth of the laboratories.
Is it a synthesizer, Is it an effect, Is it both ?
It's inspired from a legendary machine
It's a simple but powerful audio generator
It can also process audio content
Vangelis, Tangerin Dream, Laurie Anderson, Kraftwerk and many others, used the original machine
Stay tuned, more news, demo, pictures are coming soon
Surely thats the Roland Vocoder VP-330 Plus?

it doesnt matter what comes, i didn't buy it yet. i have all from them and now i see 199$ for stuff i payed $400 a few month ago. so i learned my lesson: wait..

hm something tells me it's not a coincidence....so this vocoder might be just be in it's infancy stage....or not even that.olikana wrote:btw last week coincidence i made a request for an analog vocoder based on 0dff.
although i'd really love to be pleasantly surprised with a musikmesse release!

simply gotta love it ......really want it...asap!
although i'm not a fan of lotuzias business pratice (or at least his actions so far)...at the end of the day if the product does the job that's what a musician judges (we don't have an agenda like preset spammers ) . so let's wait for release.

It's an interesting synth to recreate. I hope they price it reasonably. I'd be most interested in vocoder use with instruments. I hate how overused speaking with vocoders is in today's music. It's....just....too....much (I'm looking at you Black Moth Super Rainbow). Although AIR did use it for most all of their vocoder stuff including the classic "Le Soleil Est Pres De Moi" (which is a fantastic song).

And it will never be a "true" emulation with an iLok. I don't think you ever needed to plug anything like an iLok into the VP330 go get it to work

tho' i dont like the hardware dongles as well sadly everything from xils which isn't protected via ilok/elicenser is cr*****.

Anyway it was easily possible to misunderstand it and in the way i understood it the sentence would have made sense too.
