No samples involved, no external fx, no resynthesis - this is all easily done by hand. Credit to JS Bach and Scriabin for some of the melodies.

More info soon :)
I just did a zoom in, on the GUI, looks very well laid out. Many options, too :) Nice work!

My god it's full of stars... Most intriguing interface. I assume a mouse pointer (controller) can interact with each graphic pane? Is the 3-d wavey bit at the bottom some kind of Envelope? Big fan of what appears to be an octave-based spectrum display :) Interesting...very. At the very least beautiful to work with (or just watch during a sequence)..Would be really nice to project the interface in live performance Cheers!

Thanks Scott!

Good questions. Yes each panel is a functional editing environment, nothing is there just for show. The 'mesh' is hidden unless you mouse over (though you can have it always revealed, optionally).
3D wavey thing - that could mean the waveform editor (bottom right) or the waveform 'surface editor' bottom left. They're both views of the time-domain waveform.

Mm, I did consider this. Almost everything can be edited as a note is playing, and visual feedback (updating of the surfaces / spectrogram) is realtime and well optimized.

I'll record a quick vid, I think you'll like what you see... :)

In the interim here's a pic of the unwrapped phase spectrum, the other half of the frequency domain view. It's not always this pretty, but sometimes

Good recall! I already forgot it as the thread went away with no more news nor update... :P

This looks like something that needs a touch screen interface! ipad app????

This looks like it's going to be awesome :D
No band limits, aliasing is the noise of freedom!

Agreed. I had forgotten about this one too...

How is your website coming along? We definitely need a page to go to that has all of the info in one centralized location. But I do admit, this thing sounds incredible and the interface is truly elegant!!

FINALLY something granular that doesnt sound like that academic mish-mash noise nobody uses for music making
You obviously need to listen more to Alchemy audio demos… And ambient music as well :hihi:
And Granite is really nice too. But this is clearly something entirely different. Really interested in seeing more about this "Cycle" project.

I'm not a musician, but I've designed sounds that others use to make music. http://soundcloud.com/obsidiananvil
