For me, the king remains VB3. Far ahead of all the others. And now it is also 64-bit in addition!Numanoid wrote:A bump

For anyone interested in a fancy rotary emulation, as noted earlier, MeldaProduction is having a sale this month where 3 random plugins go on sale every 3 days, and MRotary (the full new one, not vintage) is up now. It's 50% off, net price is 24 Euro, $33.80 through PayPal.

Included into Logic means available only for Logic owners. That's why it can be of interest only for Logic owners. Perhaps that it is better... I don't know, since only Logic owners can use it.
And even that... it wouldn't mean that it would work as correctly and as fine in another environment, because generally the plug-ins provided with an environment are made specifically (or improved specifically) for be used in an optimal way this environment by capitalizing its specific resources in a particular way. It's the case of all the FL plugins provided with FL, and probably idem with Reaper, etc.
It's interesting, indeed, for the people who purchase the actual environment... but is it as interesting for the others?
I don't know, humbly... but I think to that kind of thing.

Appreciate your posts on various subjects EvilDragon.EvilDragon wrote:Why not through VB3fx, because to my ears it sounds better and more authentic than LX122?evilantal wrote:After the dust has settled a bit I'll do some side-by-side comparisons of VB3 and Steinberg Model C, both through XILS-labs LX122 leslie sim.
I use VB3 with a Novation Impulse. I just installed a Trek II OBL-2-SL on my Hammond A-100. I would like to run the audio out of the Trek II and process it through VB3fx leslie SIM. How do I set this up in my DAW?
For what it's worth I use Reaper.
Thanks

You would set the track input to your Trek II, and then load VB3fx right on that track, Bob's your uncle.

Resurrecting this thread has made me go back and see where I was involved in the conversation. Some how I had missed the explanation for what happened to the Nubi plugins. I feel bad that I don't have the compelling interest in such instruments to have wanted to buy a license from the developer. I never used his stuff, but it was wonderfully designed (from my perspective of never having played the real thing). It sucks that one can put so much work into a thing and almost no one cares. I've been there as a tech, as an artist, and as a musician. I'm sometimes glad I DON'T have a programmer's mind. I'd probably have made something as a labor of love and been rewarded zero percent by anything/anyone else.

As the original OP of this freshly resurrected thread...
I can inform that I've found my new king of hammond plugins in GG Audio's Blue3.
Don't even need a separate drive or Leslie plugin anymore.
In fact, it comes with it's own Leslie as a separate plugin. Like VB3.
Highly recommended!

I've downloaded the demo, but haven't had a chance to play with it yet. Revival from Audreio is interesting, but it's probably is a bit weird if a person just wants a Hammond clone without any extra bells and whistles.evilantal wrote:As the original OP of this freshly resurrected thread...

IK Multimedia's upcoming Amplitude Leslie has caught my attention; the videos are impressive, and the feature set is good. I may preorder it.

Hello everybody,
There is another Hammond plug-in that I don't think anyone has mentioned, the Air Music Tech DB-33.
It has been around for a while and a lot of Pro Tools users have been using it as their “Hammond sound” in productions.
It is available in the Audio Unit and VST formats. The AAX version is only available in the AIR’s Instrument Expansion Pack 3, and is currently on Promo at $9.99, so it might be worth demoing to see how it stands compared to all the others mentioned in this thread.
Best regards,
Nick

Well. I, for one, haven't mentioned it for a reason...Nick Hamilton wrote:Hello everybody,

DB-33 doesn't stand up to all the others... Even the old NI B4-II is better.
