Boy, that is one ugly-looking user interface.

Locked in this player version I meant.Halma wrote:They are not locked but can only assigned via mod matrix. So if there is no mod matrix (which is bloody awesome btw aside from the used column size) then there is no chance to map the performance controllers manually to your need.
In the full version I expect that users can change the performance actors as they may wish.

In the full version you got access to several more sub menus:
So if you like this synth, the full version is "only" $49, not so expensive...

Question: assuming there will be future preset expansions for Enzyme - is it possible to load them in the CM version? Or is that function locked as well?
PS: I love the GUI For once a synth with a distinct & different look But that's just me.

I've just tried to take Enzyme CM for a spin and...man, what a CPU hog...at least on my (old) PC. Only a few presets managed not to hit instant CPU overload - and that was in mono. Ouch Sorry, this is a no-no for me - I'm not going to upgrade my system just to be able to run this. Maybe it's an issue with FL (9 Studio), but for now it's unusable - pity...

That`s wiered. I have a pretty old rig too (2.5gHz dualcore & 2gig ram) but mine does not behave that bad. I do have performance problems when I enable all notes, play more than 4 keys at once with a long release tail and hit another 4 keys while the release tail from the other sounds still fades out. That´s the only time when I encounter crackling.
The only thing that might be possible: because you can´t lower the OSC AMOUNT which is on the synthesis page or the AMP ENVELOPE RELEASE PARAMETER which sits on the MOD MATRIX page (and unfortunately you do not have access both of it) it is not possible to streamline your setup to your needs. I mostly never use the full voice & osc count but that is because of the harmonic content and mostly not because of performance issues.
And regarding to the gui: it works pretty well imho. It is very clear, not too tiny knobs, the knob behaviour is very smooth and all values can be toggled on or off etc. And it runs pretty stable too.
Regards
Sebastian

Pretty similar with a single core 2.8Ghz AMD64 CPU here, it's usable but as I don't like it anyway (and hate the GUI in addition) it doesn't even matter to me, just saying...Halma wrote:That`s wiered. Not sure if the CPU usage problem is a bug or a feature, but I'll do some testing and speak to John for more info.
Peace,
Andy.

Is it a good idea to release a free cm version so soon after the official debut release?
Also plugin demo never shows up in orion daw, has this been fixed?

Since the CM version mainly a preset player without saving or proper preset editing / creation I think it's fine - the full version is much more powerful - but perhaps other people disagree?

Just wanted to say that I am fine with that and only blame my rig for this. I think it´s a good move that Enzyme comes as a Preset Player. Because that way people can still enjoy the whole sound of the synth without being afraid that some patches are not working.
And because of the performance controllers people can still modify the presets to a certain point.

Sebastian

I was a bit miffed when I heard about the free version, but now that I know the limitations it's absolutely okay.ZenPunkHippy wrote:Since the CM version mainly a preset player without saving or proper preset editing / creation I think it's fine - the full version is much more powerful - but perhaps other people disagree?

Aside from the scrolling in the mod matrix, which I still find horribly tedious, I like the GUI as well, by the way.
