And that is (drumroll)...Spectrasonics

They just released an update to Omnisphere 1.5 and it has an error when trying to install on Win XP 32, and lo and behold it says Win 7/Vista required in the release notes.

I'm going to email them and ask them for confirmation as to whether there will be no repair for this update not working on XP.

Oh come on, it's 13 years since XP's initial release. upgrade already.
I don't know what to write here that won't be censored, as I can only speak in profanity.

Exactly.
My main tools: Kontakt, Omnisphere, Samplemodeling + Audio Modeling. Akai VIP = godsend. Tari's libraries also rock.

No.
You'll get to use more RAM if you upgrade to x64

And a lot of other extra benefits...

Vista was a real pig,but Win 7 Pro x64 is a great OS...

Not all change is bad,but if you want to stay where you are - that's OK...

There are people around this world who still use a horse and cart
No auto tune...

If you wanna stick with XP - feel free.

Just do not expect the rest of the world to stop progress and development.

XP is outdated.
WIN 7 64 bit works brilliantly for me.

Time to update
Studio One 2.6, Omnisphere, Trillian, Massive, Synthmaster - plus other plugins and Ipad apps.

Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.

Its ugly (even with the XP skin).
And there are ZERO advantages. Extra RAM maybe but doesn't bother me.

This. Maintaining support for outdated systems massively hinders progress and makes development more time consuming and expensive.

I - as a developer of browser based applications - would be very happy if Windows XP would completely disappear today. Then I wouldn't have to care about IE8 anymore. Or maybe I should go the Google road: to only support the current and previous browser versions and simply ignore the rest :D
