It's these people
:hihi:
I can read "Jordan Rudess". Wow! :o
:)

Ha, missed this. This is known in sales psychology as the 'Higher Authority' play.
When all other arguments fail, find someone they look up to and point out they use it, because subconsciously, we want to be like them. Don't you?
Really shows more of the weakness of a product than it's strength.
I actually delayed myself from buying Zebra because people were throwing Zimmer at me as a reason to buy it. What got me to finally make the buy was the filters. I have an inkling that could be the same for Omnisph.

Motif's? I have some specific uses for them, especially in playing jam sessions/gigs where the esoteric sounds of Omni and Alchemy are not well received by the rockstars in their own mind that don't want or need them. Generally all you need is some pianos and organs and a couple of synth leads for them. Motif's are great for that, regardless of the band's individual tone. I love my Motif's, but I wouldn't call them favorites I couldn't live without.

Back to topic (sort of):The rep believed that Omnisph is only for cinematic and Alchemy was for only EDM. Well, I knew he wasn't listening to the Omni users and which specific sound sets he had listened to in Alchemy by that statement. Both are used in many more ways. Cheap sales ploys rarely work on me ('Urgency Plays' at the right price can do it sometimes though). :)

Another thing we hear often on KVR... "Each VST has it's own character and layering them together often gives more variance in sound that can make it yours". What seems to be more true in Omniland though is the idea you don't need different characters in tone or engines, just a lot of samples in eight layers.
That belief does sound rather thin.

(Btw, I only list the instruments I program, not all the ones I use or own.)

WTF is Aerosmith doing with Omnisphere? :o

All they need is probably some organ or generic pad sound to fill out their back line, employing Omni for that is like using canons to kill flies :P

anytime you do not agree with his train of thought... he always goes with the subliminal messages for some reason... :hihi:

when he goes that route you pretty much have won!!!

is omnisphere still king?

i do not think "king" is the correct term to use... omnisphere along with all other specstrasonic products are very "popular"... there are tons of individuals that uses omnisphere every single day... there are some who like/love other products... the facts of the matter is we use what we like and can afford... not everyone is going to like omnisphere... but the individual that uses omnsphere on a regular basis... loves omnisphere...

about individuals having problems with omnisphere... i.e. not working properly... just GOOGLE omnisphere... and see how many problems/issues it has... omnisphere is rock solid...

last point... customer service at specstrasonic is A1... they will call you back at your convenience to solve issue...

is omnisphere still king? cant answer that... but it is a "great" product to own... just ask any "serious" owner!!!

re: use of the word "king", I think the thread title is a bit misleading and should probably be taken with a grain of salt - he explains more clearly what he's looking for in his OP.

Speaking of which, has he even replied since page 1? Seems this thread has opened many cans of worms, so it leaves me wondering if any of it has been useful to him.

As a long time and heavy user of Omnisphere I would have to say that somewhere around 1-2% of this entire thread seems to be even relevant to the use, sound or capabilities of the product. Everything else, for me, is completely irrelevant to it, COMPLETELY.

Sounds like conservative political zealots trying to limit the influence of more liberal approaches by throwing them into some political categorization that the rest of the world has come to find taboo like "conspiracy theorists", "socialists", "new ager", etc.
Who is "I"? What is "I"? This has yet to be explained.

Im not sure that "King" should be the word used for that beer! And you know this is not the original Budweiser recipe. Its been cheapened by the inclusion of rice as opposed to total hops in the recipe thanks to the need for cheaper production cost and higher demands in the states. As a matter of fact I am reluctant to call it a Pilsner as that name was originally reserved for only beers brewed within the city of Pilsen in the Czech Republic. Does any of this have anything to do with the actual taste or experience of drinking the beer? Hell to the NO.

You're crazy man!

Tee hee.

The rest of the world thinks Budweiser is a decent beer.

BWAH HAHAHA

It's the USA's only moneymaking export!
(Next to Omnisphere and Dave Smith Instruments, of course)

I TOLD YOU GUYS SO!

Budwieser is a very cold and digital tasting beer. Plus it's not x64 (but it's in beta I've heard)

Better than that overpriced 'craft beer' from California that's mostly just a rompler.

To get that big phat analog beer taste, you'll have to turn to Guiness stout.
