I agree but it still feels unfinished with bugs and even the GUI is a bit rough around the edges.

I believe so but I guess life has taken over...who knows...

Actually there was an update by Clement (Olivier's friend), back in 2016, some fixes and that's it. I believe he doesn't have enough time. Perhaps it's better to contact him directly.

Oh I remember there was something wrong with the fm ratio or something. Maybe that is the update.

Exactly my point. Why let this great synth die because it can't be maintained? The main developer has sadly passed away and unless he had explicit wishes that his friend learn development and carry on, it would seem to make the most sense to just open source the thing at this point and let Oliver at least have that legacy.
