Cheers for the submissions so far. Nice stuff.
About the SoundCloud player not showing Doctorbob, I think you need more posts here at KVR for things like that to start working. There's a restriction in place to combat spammers I guess.

I think you need 5 or 10 posts for it to show.doctorbob wrote:Okay .... so why is my link to my tune not showing up as a soundcloud playable thingy? I just copied and pasted the URL ... What's the magic to make this happen so peeps can play my tune in this thread?
Thanks for the plays and comments so far ...

Aha ... makes sense ... been listening again to your track - nice mastering job on it as well by the way - nice clean mix. I did the cheese just to add some variation to the type of tracks that come into these competitions. Next time it'll probably be ambient (which is more my style and liking anyway, believe it or not).
Now a pensioner (and grey!), but have been in the music scene since the mid-60's, doing production work at school and Uni. Worked with various folk, e.g Trevor Wishart, Richard Orton, Ambrose Filed, in various guises.I think I still have a good ear for mixing - not a brilliant musician by any means, but love the tools around these days.
So, gotta get these posts up then ...
Cheers,
Rob (aka DoctorBob)

Ok, +1 post ...
On a different topic - I suspect many here will have submitted to the Novation Heritage competition as well. Does anyone know when and how the results of that will be announced?
So, talking ambient ....
Has anyone played around with Noatickl? I remember playing around with KoanX and it's big brother. Always been interested in generative music, played with Tabula Vigilans a bit as well. Remember having an interesting chat with Brian Eno quite early on (post Roxy) when he was starting to get into this arena.
What tools do people use these days for this type of genre? That is, besides sitting down at the keyboard (or piano roll!!), and playing it - like-a-real-musician-does!

Noatikl is a great program, you should check out mixitil as well.
I often use a mixture of noatikl and my Korg Pad Kontrol.

Noatickl does look great. Might be looking at that with more detail.
I will also check out mixtickl as well ...
I have a Yamaha 88 key Portable Grand as my main keyboard interface as well as a M-Audio Oxygen-8 V2 - but one pot is a bit dodgy now, and can be a pain when you want to assign quickly by midi-learn as it often pops in when you haven't touched it! Looks like it'll be opened up soon - still have a Yamaha AW16G to fix (couple of the sliders are knackered) - this is to team up with my pristine AW16G via MIDI to make a 16-track field recording solution - use two 26-chan mixers on each - for either direct/instr input, or for various submixes as required.
Cheers,
db

See this procedure:
1. Open the Edit page of your track (with the button I've hooped in red): 2. Check if all is like this (in my red ellipse): nota: of course you enable the download (the first green tick) only if you want.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

And "Widget enabled" (the central green tick)? It is enabled?
I also strongly suggest you to remove the brackets in the name of the track. As all punctuation symbols except the hyphen.
And while we're at it concerning all the Soundcloud tracks we should also avoid https at the beginning of the URL we paste in our texts but use just http (I tell it as addition while we're at it, but that it's not the reason of your problem)

Ok, still looks like the not enough posts limit though.
All three green ticks on the soundcloud page.
Edited link to be http rather than https, removed parentheses.
(But neither was the problem - and others also have parentheses anyway and they show up!)
So, once more into the breach dear friends ... post #9
And everything reverted ...

If I do it myself...
https://soundcloud.com/doctorbob/doctor ... pleeze-osc
(and with the bbcode at the beginning and the end of the URL)
https://soundcloud.com/doctorbob/doctor ... pleeze-osc
... so no, it is not due to the number of posts since I'm near to 400 posts in my history.

In this page:
http://soundcloud.com/settings/connections
... do you have "SoundCloud.com" still present at the bottom of the page (in the group "Connected applications")?
If not... it should be present.

As you can see, among all theses tunes (which are all some of your's) only the last one in date (that I have numbered "1") presents the issue.
So it is necessarily a difference in the parameters of the tune. One of this parameters of the last tune which is not the same as in the previous ones.
To compare them:

To compare them:
- Open your last one in a new tab of your browser
- And "Pretty Tune" (for example) in another new tab of your browser.
- Then for each one, open its parameters with the button "Edit".
- Then compare with attention... and you'll probably see a difference somewhere.
