You should never get it with the minimoog, the filter is too steep and the saturation is outrageous on that thing. Even the VCA distorts like hell.

True, the minimoog is the most dense sound compared to the others. Indeed the best results I achieved with the 12 dB filters. But hey, in the mix, such details don't mean a lot to most listeners I guess.

Well, the 12db filters will have that rougher timbre as you reduce the cutoff. If you're using a pedal to modulate manually during chords you'll really notice the moog style filter cutting way too much of the buzz from the timbre.

The minor saturation present in the cs- filters actually adds to this sort of noise/fizzy timbre, but only a very tiny bit. Most of it comes simply from the fact the filters are 12db.

There is another one using a Juno-60:

that's cool! actually you can use the tal-u-no-lx as well!

Gee, someone give that guy a microphone... :P

I just bought a V-Synth XT the other day and ordered a soundset I just saw on YouTube with a great Blade Runner patch. Hopefully I will get it today (starts at 1:02) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mIq716_A330

Diva could probably nail this with the right settings.

Synthsquad would be my runner up like others have said.

Seeing how a simple synth such as the Juno can produce such great results, I am inclined to assume that almost any synth can emulate that sound decently.

I agree. 2 vco's saw, adsr x2, 12 dB filter, LFO or other vibrato, done!

AAS: VA-1/VA-2/Player has some very good versions of these.
Their tone being 'rounder' to my ears prefers them over other VSTs for these particular type of patches.

So, once you got that sound, then what? When you use it everyone will think of you as a wannabe Vangelis 8)

Well, yeah, there is that!
Probably has a lot to do with why I actually don't use them.

hi all,

late to the party, however...
itg´s actually really easy to replicate this sound with any va that has 2 saw osc´s, a 12db filter and a possibility to route aftertouch to the cutoff. in the below audio example i did create every sound with hypersonics va module "us1".
