Maybe that's his purpose, to collect the patches and share?
Actually it would be a good idea to create some banks with the most famous sounds.
But you can't do that out of respect of the creators (if they did the job themselves)
I've found some great Vangelis and Jarre emulations also...
I personally think Art Institute did a great job also.

What I do is sometimes improve an existing patch that comes close, but the new bank I'm creating is entirely my creation.

Honestly, I thought about selling my famous patches bank, I'm creating now. As I see how much work it takes to create a bank full of quality patches. Sometimes days over 1 single sound and 20 versions to later evaluate and begin all over... (amazing how your mind and ears fool ya after listening to long)

So I already spent weeks, hell, even months programming this bank, and still busy. But maybe that would be not fair to the 10.000 free ones, existing. Also, maybe synth1 is not populair enough to offer commercial patches?

Maybe we should ask permission to create a collected bank from the owners?
Would it be possible to create and share a bank online? After all, it's just adding the sy1 files with a number...

for $40 someone can get the OPX pro player with all the presets they offer including all those famous ones so to sell them just so they could be used on another free vsti would be pointless since we can just spend $40 and get the patches plus the synth to play them on that probably sounds closer to the original anyway.

I never had a problem with its looks. It does the job very well.

I dare you for that

I compared the sounds with OPX and I might even say for some, Synth1 sounds better !
Although I'm jealous of the Queen I want to break free sound, man that sounds great !!!
But don't forget, OPX is way to slow for most computers, I got clicks every time. That never happens with Synth1, it's a trustworthy synth.
