I am somewhat late to the party.. but here are the tunes that inspired my journey into string machine territory and finally led to the development of my own Night Flight VSTi:

Bob Marley & The Wailers - Night Shift (starting form 0:30)

Horace Andy - Spying Glass

¡Hola Daniel!

Glad to see you here!

And yes, better late than never!

Yeah! Nice choice, these songs!

Below you have:

[EDIT]

The things seem now a bit clearer...
I guess I'm more interested in string synth more for the way they make the sounds (rather than the sounds they make), but I really appreciate BlackWinny making and maintaining this exhaustive list, and for everyone else who offered minor corrections. I learned quite a bit from reading this and listening to the songs.

Isn't there a way for KVR to make this a "sticky" or something so we can always find it and refer to it? You know, like that "Old Free VSTi Gems from the Past" (but without that thread's 764 pages!). I think a lot of people could get some use out of this.

Steve
It would be an excellent sticky thread, yes, if the administrators agree, and there is another notable argument very neat... it is that this thread has never known any quarrel! It has always been nicely friendly without any exception since its beginning. If they read it, thank you to them to consider that option of making a sticky of it. But if there isn't any admin in the readers, I don't know how to ask them. If someone knows...

And there was also in the recent days my work to make a very complete list of the "sounds of the 80's" which had been also very appreciated and which led to an as friendly and as enthralling thread which could be a sticky as well.
Yes, I meant to mention your other thread, too. Very thorough, and I think I commented there on how I was going to check out some of the synths you'd mentioned. For some reason, I love mid- to late-'80s synths, as well as those from the early '90s that have some character to them. (Once the march of the ROMplers was under way, I lost interest.)

Thanks again for your thorough efforts on these lists!

I just added a new module for Wusik 4000 V1.0.4 (still in beta) that allows Paraphonic modulations. If you want to discuss this, please, check out our company forum here at KVR: http://forum.wusik.com - I haven't announced this over the beta thread yet, but should be doing it later today. (haven't uploaded the files yet, just emailed to some users to test before)

Thanks William!
When it is definitively done, could you tell me?... so that I will put in red Wusik Electronic Ensemble in my list at the page 2 to include it in the collection of the best paraphonic choices for the new readers who will stumble on the thread.

Sure thing, you can already add it, as it is done, just not official yet. ;-) PM me your email so I can send you some files, if you want, of course.

I did it for Wusik EVE as it matches better the main purpose of the thread. But I can add "as all the Wusik 4000 collection" in the little mention if you want). You'd be OK?

Ah, maybe I misspoken, what happens is that only Wusik 4000 has the Paraphonic module, not Wusik EVE. ;-) And Wusik 4000 comes with Wusik EVE sounds, so, there you go. ;-)

Ah... Ok, I understand better. I'll correct the mention exactly as you've just done here, since I think it couldn't be clearer.

EDIT: Done. It seems clear (and respecting the conventions I had set about the colors of texts for the products). You tell me?
