Hey KVR fam.
I've been seeing a number of reviews on Rob Papen's Blue 2 and was curious to know who has it and how do feel about it. Share your experiences with it. I'm looking to purchase it in the near future.

YOu should really demo. It's delicious, and has an oomph. Love the sound, but is unique. It's also pretty deep once you really get into it.
Peace.

The audio engine has been redone, so a lot of the horrible ailasing is gone. The sample bank has been expanded, so you can get some really good rompler miles out of it. The PWM is very unique on the double-waves. Filters are OK. Waveshaping and phase distortion is great fun to mess around with and sounds excellent.

@osiris, @Sendy Thanks guys for all the input. Sounds like Blue 2 will be a great addition to my synth arsenal!

One of the best soft synths ever got even better. That's my take, in a nutshell.

The XY/vector pad is a blast, the new vocal samples let you take Blue II into FS1R territory with some killer vocal pads, and the FM matrix takes FM/PM in Blue to another level. It's a powerhouse synth.

Used it on my last 2 songs :)

I don't always find the sound I'm looking for, but I always seem to find something interesting.

It's great for messing around, but it's easy to get lost as it's deep.

But the same could be said for most flagships synths.

It presents a good alternative to Alchemy & Omnisphere - my other go-to synths - both of which come with masses of presets to get ideas started.

From the introduction video it seems like this goes more in direction i was thinking dune2 would go to. Really liking what i can see but 150 euros is a little much.

Yeah demo was very impressive. I concur :)

From the feedback I'm getting Blue 2 looks like a winner! Blue 2, Nexus and Omnisphere should finish my synth buying for now. I have some of the other synths mentioned.

It's a really nice synth. Love the X Y pad!

Very broad range of sounds.

I'm actually surprised because there hasn't been much of a buzz about it. Very little threads... :(

How many presets does it have?

Ps: the gui is kinda meh, guess that is what stands in its way to commercial success..

it should be in all synths as a de facto, it's like LFOs on steroids, it makes synth alive.

I think I remember Rob saying 2700+.

Hopefully Rob will have a Christmas sale. I really thought Blue 2 and DUNE 2 would 'clash', but they compliment each other. Just loving both of these.

2700? thats insane!
Finally!
