Hi all.

This is my first time in a contest One Synth Challenge.

participated with the song:

https://soundcloud.com/feeling-within-t ... -contest-2

DAW: FL Studio 10

24 instances of Swierk

No effects.

I adjusted the use of daw by default. only a few instances the volume was adjusted in the mixer. in the channel master, only the Fruity Limiter that is default. without adjustments for me.

I Do not use effects to compose this song. all the sounds are generated by the synthesis legitimate swierk.

That was my goal to the compose this song, using nothing more than just the Swierk. :)

Thank you! and Good luck! my friends. :)

Greetings from mexico. :)

12 Hours left :hyper:

Wow it's been raining tracks the past 2 days, thanks guys, nice work

Post

Hooray, I finally got one done on time
I spent too much time on sound design and not enough on composition/arrangement, as well as moving
this month... if I can think of better additional excuses, I'll add them later.
Anyway, the specs:

DAW: Reaper

14 x Swierk
4 x ClassicReverb
4 x ClassicDelay
4 x ClassicCompressor
2 x ClassicEQ
4 x ReaEQ
6 x ReaDelay
2 x DualPanner
1 x SlickHDR
1 x SlickEQ
1 x LimiterNo6
1 x Lisc-verb

Maybe a little sausagey, but there's dynamics n' stuff. Rolled my own patches, but thanks to the
extra banks for inspiration. PS I made an ORGAN patch :troll:

Discontinue use if rash or irritation develops.

Hello - too long an absence. Could not be helped.

This is called: The Mirage.

Swierk X 12
Lisc Delay X 2
Marvel EQ X 1
Reverb and other EQ on board SONAR.

Not finished really but time was running out. Way too much packed into 4 minutes? Prolly.

I noticed with LISC delay that in SONAR at least the settings are not retained by saving the project. I had to keep remembering to save / reload separately.

And something is weird with Sound Cloud - it is taking ages to process the track...

I made some of the patches - 4 I think. But some of the others, though they started as presets, have been edited beyond recognition in some cases. That rain/flowing water thing was a bastard. It took more than just Swierk, obviously.

Nice synth!

I only started this one yesterday so sorry if its a bit rough, I usually need at least a couple of weeks! But its good to be back in with a new entry at last.

drunken jesus wrote:Thinking about entering this as the OSC have intrigued me in the past but I never really had the time, one quick question do you guys find it easier to write your songs while using the synth or to write the song first then start working on the synth? I think writing a rough sketch/outline of a track on my typical samplers/synths of choice then moving the composition to Swierk would provide a good result
.

I've only entered a few times but I think the best way is to see whether you can get some sounds you like (preferably love) from the synth then start letting those sounds take you in a direction. Other layers usually get added along the way.

Manage to sneak an entry in this month.

KVRAUDIO OSC 64: Salt line's Swierk

Title: Tracking the salt line.
This months was themed on the Salt line in Cheshire uk (also the synth devs. name also in cheshire ;-)) the Salt Line follows the route of a disused railway line. The line was used to transport coal and limestone to the chemical works which used brine in the manufacturing process, hence the name Salt Line, but is now a countryside walk/cycling route.
