That may have been the case in 1983 models, but the presets changed later on - we didn't get a DX until early 1985.

There is a massive pack of sounds on here http://bobbyblues.recup.ch/yamaha_dx7/dx7_patches.html called All The Web collection, worth checking out.

edit - And so is the other two patch collections on there - Keyboards Magazine and Guitares&Claviers.

In not too large time intervals, people keep coming back to these sounds. Some things never get old (usually those "simple" pioneers things). For this reason (and because of the sentimental connection) I still keep my DX7 and SY77...
