If you got Reaktor
It seems pretty certain that the Ebola ensemble is inspired by Virus

You can always roll your own waveformsKriminal wrote: Z3ta is not so good. Im pretty sure it uses the really crap single cycle waveforms that were knocking around years and years ago.
Z3TA+2 can read 32 bit waveforms...
Rapture and Dimension Pro can read 64 bit waveforms...Mmmm...Deliciously pure....
I remember reading that Richard had a Virus on the bench when he was coding the original DUNE...
I love working with DUNE and DUNE 2...
The're both great sounding synths that are laid out clearly and are easy to drive ...
But Z3TA+2 is also a wonderful synth and it feels like hardware to me....
We certainly are spoilt for choices these days and we've become a little blase because of this fact
No auto tune...

Z3TA+2 can sound very virus like if you take the time to program it.
However that being said Z3TA+2 is no virus, and a virus is no Z3TA+2..

Another great one to check out is Native Instruments Massive.

It has already been mentioned however Spire (IMO) has the closest feel to a Virus - however my experience has been with TI and not with A/B/C...

I heard this over at a friends house who ended up buying it. It is a huge CPU hog first of all, and most of the presets sound like garbage and it aliases badly.
I never told my friend my thoughts because he spent money on it, but I personally would not pay money for this..
