64 is the Commodore 64 SID chip (my personal favourite sound chip) and SFC is Super FamiCom/Super Nintendo/SNES

Thank you. Yes C64 is brutally good. Heard it yesterday. A friend got the C64mini. I played a bit and the sound is completely dope. Back in the days I didn't realize the quality of the sound of the C64 so much because the playback systems we had as children weren't too great. :tu:

Wow. That's great news.

There are some resources linked from within PortaFM itself: https://plogue.com/resources/VGM/.

There are quite a few parallel lines of YM chips. OPNs will mostly be all in MD, but that leaves the OPM/OPP/OPZ out for another future one (perhaps), and maybe an OPL3 one, but the 2OP OPL sound is 95% covered with PortaFM. there are other lines of course, but these are the famous 'gaming' ones.

FC is indeed Famicom (NES+Expansions), SFC is Super Famicom (SNES), 64 is Commodore 64 of course, and not Nintendo 64, since well thats sort of more interesting for their samples than the playback tech imho.

Lots of different technologies in Casio synths and are all very interesting to us indeed.

Thank you for the explanation. Sounds like really a lot of work to do. Can you already tell approximately how long it will take to publish a new CS part? I am looking forward for all of them but I will be in heaven when you actually would program some CASIO stuff with all the crazy modulation possibilities PortaFM has :D

The chipsynths announced so far are pretty advanced, all their emu cores are created and regression tested with hardware. The UX, presets, workflow and general polish is another thing.

not thrilled with the 4 minute time limit, but wow... really impressed with this thing.

i was pleasantly surprised to find that some values are "stepped", which instantly reminded me of the PSS-360 (or whatever it was) that i had used previously. it's been 20+ years since i've used it, but this had me running into familiar sounds that i had long forgotten. i would love to see a 1:1 emulation of that simplified PSS-xxx "Digital Synthesizer" section, but won't mention it again.

the time limit makes it almost impossible to explore, but so far i love the modulation ("steps") options.

really looking forward to getting deeper into this, will be buying asap.

Believe me, it saddens us too. People were bragging online that they could render chipsounds tracks using the demo version with the old 5 minute limit and used that for years.

First it doesnt matter how cheap a plugin is, a demo should always be available. David did that.

2nd. Within the 4 minute timelimit and reloading you should know with such a plugin if you like it

3rd. It is not expensive plug in....

Is there a way to save settings globally? I mean so that for example GUI size and velocity tracking settings I have made would be recalled the next time the plugin is loaded.

Oh! We forgot to add the "save as default" entry in the main presets menu.
Will add it in next update.
Sorry about this.
