I've got this YouTube clip starting at 45 seconds in and the synth reminds me of the old Reading Rainbow theme (not the chimes - the first sound). What kind of sound is this VST preset? Is it a Pad, a brass, etc? Please help me find a similar sound.

First of all, really like that. Thanks for posting it.
Okay, if you're referring to the melody line, it sounds like a lightly filtered square wave lead with delay.
As to exactly what synth made that sound, any VA synth can duplicate it. If it doesn't have a delay in its architecture just throw your own delay on it.
Nothing special really. Just a very basic sound. A Mini Moog or any emulation can probably come close enough.

Just a square wave with a lowpass filter around 3 khz. Or A squarewave whith round edges. Nearly any synth can do this.
Envelope settings
Attack: 20ms. Decay 50ms s. Sustain 40%, Release 20ms

+a bit of chorusing or flanging. Or maybe 2 or 3 voices slightly detuned.flakes2 wrote:Just a square wave with a lowpass filter around 3 khz. Or A squarewave whith round edges. Nearly any synth can do this.
