Alright! It's really amazing sounding, but I am too familiar with my other synths and want to own as few synths as possible, so I have a PolyKB license for sale! So if someone is on the trial and wants to pick up the full PolyKB III quickly and much cheaper than even the current website's intro price, then check this out: viewtopic.php?f=43&t=477141. I am sure I will make someone very happy here. :)

Edit: Sold to a lucky winner. It's a great synth.
Love. :tu:

I have Pro Tools 12.6.1 on Windows 10. I installed PolyKB III AAX. But the plugin does not show up in Pro-Tools. I looked at the file structure of the plugin and saw a lot of weird things:

1. Why do the AAX plugin names show up as PolyKB II?
2. I Renamed the Plugin to PolyKB III and it still does not work.
3. I tested the VST version in VSTHost and it works fine, and I could go out to get a workaround, but to me that is unacceptable (why should I buy another product to make it work).

I downloaded and installed the elicenser version and the demo version. None of these work in 64bit AAX. However, PolyKB 2.5 works fine on AAX.

Do you have know why it would do this? Was it tested on Pro Tools 12? Do you know when you will be able to fix AAX? It is totally unusable for me since I use Pro Tools only.

Thank you!
Byron Thomas

Hello Byron, Xils is aware and working on this problem atm, and, if all goes well, it should be fixed in a few days.
Best regards.

Hooray! Now step play mode works properly in both versions, checked in vII and vIII.
Thanks Laurent and Xils. :D
(perhaps even, it has worked since the release of the third version, but only now understood how it should works, finally).

Yes it was playing OK since a few versions :)

For those who are interested in the sequencer STEP PLAY mode ( wich can also btw be used as a Chord player combined with a chord memory thing) just DL this little zip package. It contains an init/template patch that I made for our friend c_voltage (just import it in the PolyKB II/III etc), and a screen capture of the position of the various sequencer parameters to make it operate in Step Play mode. (just press repeateadly C3 and you'll quickly see). This preset has also the Tune button activated, meaning that the Chord Memory will also follow relative to the root note played. If it's more thant what you need, just deactivate the Tune toggle/

Lotuzia : Do you plan to release these new presets in any form soon ?

I would like to try those presets, and above all, this "2 PA Padissime Wet" preset to see how it's made.

I'm currently working on a library for Poly KB III that will be out next month. I'll be sending them to Lotuzia for his seal of approval. :hihi:

I'm hoping these will be part of an update as currently it doesn't have many PKBIII specific patches

You're right, it would be awesome to have them included in the next update

Well, the price of the upgrade from PolyKB II to PolyKB III (25€) has been judged 'more than very fair' by all the people who commented it. I've even read people declaring that some other companies would have charged more than the double, for possibly less.

So, I can understand very well that people would have been delighted to get also the equivalent content of some soundbanks with it as well, for the price of a single -discounted- quality soundbank, but it simply doesn"t work like this.

One thing I praise Xils-Lab for, is that they always commission pro sound designers for their presets, as opposed to some companies making - possibly gifted, or less- amateurs working for them for peanuts during beta or pseudo beta stages, and delivering plugins loaded with plethora of presets after. Xils respect Sound Designers, and I heavily respect them for that.

This said, like I mentioned it before, there will be some additionnal presets iirc for the PolyKB III factory library. How much and when, I dont know precisely. But, afaik, not these ones.

A somewhat emotional patch  Thanks.

Atm I have no idea, except that I hope they will eventually find a place somewhere.

After having completed the Analog Ville soundset, wich was my vision of Classic, hopefully classy, Analog Vintage presets, sometimes with a modern touch, and wich took me ages to create, I'm now concentrating on making 'Analog and beyond' patches.

These patches could not have been made with any hw venerable analog synthesizer, for various reasons. And not with any other soft synth as well. And I'm happy to share a few audio demos here and there to show people some aspects of the PolyKB III. I think this is also somewhat usefull to Xils, because going deep in the brain of the beast, I have chances to find here or there some very cryptic bugs of things possibly not working exactly like they should.

In the end, I'm now fortunate enough to be able to work only on synthesizers that I have deep passion and interest for. So, I'm simply slowly exploring the PolyKB III. And no probs, the PKB III is very rewarding and inspiring. For me.
