I remember Spire having a lot of hype as being the Sylenth1 killer. And yeah, pretty sure someone did a Jarre type demo, which was impressive.

First, you forgot hive, but maybe there is a reason you looked over hive... think about it. Second, you are talking to yourself because most of your audience are young edmr's. Third, you know, but fitting into what's popular is a different game, and that's what it's about now, the game. It's not about talent or skill or practice. It's traded in game points now. It's about getting attention and it's ALL about playing the game. That means lowest common denominator, that means twist a knob to get detune and boom. Take your shirt off hit play and you're a super star. Welcome to being too old.

I actually love the GUI, but not so sure with the workflow with the tabs, that does look horrible (but might not be in use).

Thing is out of the ones you mention I find Spire to have the richest and dare I say warmest sound. And I'm no EDM lover, 99% of the soundbanks are not to my taste but there are also a few by the likes of Jo Hollo and HGS that are absolutely amazing sound design. And it's easy to make good sounds with it of your own.

Thing is from my perspective it's the people who no longer have pride and don't care that I don't understand.

Yep, agree 100%.

I have a feeling that he would hate the GUI. :P

This track of mine is laced with Spire.

https://soundcloud.com/musicofplexus/th ... ilizations

In an earlier mix of it, I extracted out the Spire-only sounds and the UHe-only sounds into these two tracks just for fun:

https://soundcloud.com/musicofplexus/li ... ire-tracks

https://soundcloud.com/musicofplexus/li ... step-3-uhe

Spire is a really great synth and definitely worth the $$.

I like Spire. The GUI can be epanded to cover your whole monitor screen, if that's how you like it. The sound is pretty friggin' solid too. It has a nice 3D aspect to it, and the CPU use is quite reasonable as well. I wouldn't pay 169 for it but, Spire has gone on sale 3 times since I bought it last fall. Out of what you listed, the only synth I don't have is Massive, and that's because I've been a Reaktor user since 2004, and never really saw the point.
