ACE sounds great, but it is one of the highest in the CPU dept.

Audio Damage's Basic and Phosphor are about as low as it gets in CPU usage, and they aren't bad either....especially Phosphor. Another one that is super reasonable is Loomer Aspect. It never runs above 10 percent even with a high voice count. Air Hybrid 3 is pretty solid, AND is on sale. U-he's Hive, and Zebra 2 are both pretty efficient for what they can do.

One cool thing I've discovered is DiscoDsp Bliss: it's a sampler that hosts and samples VST plugins, so if you like a certain VST synth patch that pushes your CPU, you can just make multisamples of the patch. It sounds great, and never runs above 3 percent on my laptop

Tested couple of synth on my Netbook (Celeron N2840)

- Sylenth1
- Dune 1
- Sytrus

To my surprise, Sylenth1 beats them all and Sytrus can be very low on CPU. Imho Dune 1 got the best price/quality of those.

One more vote for Sylenth1 here, it's way ahead in terms of efficiency and I am grateful for that.

Tal's U-NO-LX is not nearly as efficient, at least on my AMD computer. With pads with longer release times the CPU load builds up considerably.

I assume no synth with 0df filters will make that list :)

LOL 50-60 % of the peaces listed on this thread are higher CPU. Your best bet is probably a rompler.

TAL is not THAT low on CPU. Not high too. Medium cpu usage :)

Not always low cpu, but good: Synthmaster.
low cpu: AAS Ultra Analog.

Sylenth1
Dune (original version)
HIVE
Helix is also not bad on the CPU, if I remember correctly.

for me sytrus, mpowersynth, wusik station are the only piece of my soft synths those are light on my AMD cpu
P.S. i had massive and sold it because that shit only used a single core for processing thus my cpu meter sky rockets so dont buy that "massive" shit rather go for FM8 or serum if you want to use all of your cpu cores
