Spiral Generator v2.0 teaser (FREE synth)

Been working very hard on bringing Spiral Generator up to modern standards. It's still not quite there yet, but significant progress has been made. Spiral Generator is a 2D fractal synths that produces 3-dimensional images when viewed on a phase/vector/2D oscilloscope such as PrettyScope [link]. Will be released early next month, just need to package it and get it on the website.
Spiral Generator makes a great synthesizer because of the nature of the underlying sound generation. It sounds great out of the box. You get vibrant, growly, expressive, rich sounds with little tweaking. Also, it's still free.

Stay tuned for the release. Will update this thread once it's there. Feel free to subscribe to the newsletter [link] as well.
edit: Mac/Win 32/64 VST/AU (Windows XP compatible, maybe OS X 10.7? 10.9 for sure.)

Just tested savihost 32-bit, works fine.
It must be the Windows XP compatibility problem. I gotta figure out how to make an XP-compatible product.

what does work under WinXP SP3. I will be missing out on alot of "NEW"
stuff, but will not be making my setup any more complicated than
running XP and EXT2. with no clutter synths like Charlatan, OBXD, OXE, PG8X, Synth1, Tal Elektro, KLC, etc, etc......

Made this with spiral generator today using pitch tracking LFOs (Essentially FMed the morph parameter) + Microtonic percussion. I am going to replace the percussion with spiral generators and repost as a youtube video.
Todo before release:
- change the color of important sliders so it's not all boring gray.
- mac installer
- fix the menu bugs
- make some presets
BTW if anyone wants to help make presets I'll gladly send you a beta. Just respond to this thread.

imho you shouldn't waste your time to make your stuff run on a 16 year old OS.Architeuthis wrote:Just tested savihost 32-bit, works fine.

It's even unsupported by Microsoft themselves, why should you support it?

It might only be 30 minutes of effort at most. I got some tips from other developers today I will try them out soon.Mace404 wrote:imho you shouldn't waste your time to make your stuff run on a 16 year old OS.

the bare essentials for a DAW, without a bunch of unneeded
other BS added to later versions... and a daw that can be restored in 3 minutes
from backup. yeah i timed it. so carry on with your bloated OS pal.
BTW, this cool DEV just sent me a copy that works in WinXP.
its great he doesn't think like you.

And make sure not to have it online because it's security has the same simplicity as the OS.
