It really depends on what the Update is. How much different the new product is then the old one.
Lets use Komplete as a benchmark since its the most well known plugin bundle.
If Komplete 12 had like a whole bunch of crazy awesome new stuff (And/Or updated and modernized the Legacy synths finally after all this time)
then I would happily pay a decent amount of coin for it.
It the update is rather small then I would not go anywhere near it if the price was high.

I going to say 200$ is the most I will be Comfortable to go to. And I will spend higher if I feel its worth it. But if im going to open my wallet for more than 200 on an updated product I already own you need to Reaaaaally Blow me away and give me something I know will be beneficial to me.

Yes, it totally depends on the software and what it entails, but a rough guess is max around the 30% mark. You start getting to 40% - 50%, and I will probably skip a year.
