yes, H6 just has more. The only advantages to the stand alone synth would be simplicity for patch development and interface use, and potentially performance.

Padshop Pro has hundreds of exclusive presets and samples not found in Halion. There's even more if you have the Zero Gravity expansion.

lets put it a different way. I have both. I haven't used Padshop Pro since H6 came out. Not one time other than to see how a particular patch was set. And I have a lot of the libraries for Padshop Pro.

Yes it is completely except for presets. Same goes for retrologue. The features are completely covered in Halion.

Yes that and the existing patches which are just too useful to let go of (plus I invested a lot of time in creating my own bank for it). Halion is overcomplicated and I have to fight the interface to use it, but the worst thing is simply the lack of Padshop patch import, if it had that I would have probably moved over and been motivated to learn it more but since it doesn't patch generation in Padshop is just so much easier and more rewarding.SJ_Digriz wrote:yes, H6 just has more. Thanks for the input! I wonder if Steinberg will ever implement the ability for Halion 6 to import Padshop presets. That would be awesome.

It has the same capabilities but not the presets. Good to know.

Maybe if enough folks ask, Steinberg will implement Padshop Preset importation in a future update of Halion 6. That would be amazing. I haven't really ever dealt with Steinberg before besides that their support staff seem to think I am an imbecile.
