The size of Blue 2 never bugged me, but the UI itself... meh. What I would appreciate more is if they totally redid the envelope UI so that each envelope can be seen relative to the other ones. DX7 V does this really nicely.

IMHO RP will never make animated envelopes. Simply it's just not their style.
They focus on sound, and for a certain degree, they do gui updates.
I think they do this in the proper way.
I dont want them to make "animations" like vps avenger.
There's the xy-pad in most of their synths, that's quite aan animation.
Or in the new predator - there's the oscilloscope display.

The sound quality is slightly outdated, I think.
