Will definitely be picking this one up. In fact, I can see myself buying most of the addon's at the moment. Pianoteq just keeps getting better and better

I agree. A physical modeled piano is much more expressive than any sampled piano, IMO.risome wrote:Pianoteq is by far the best virtual piano bar none IMHO
Sampling can't dynamically emulate sympathetic resonances like a model can.

Yes, but i still miss the more characterful keys like the Wing Tack piano in Keyscape in Pianoteq.Ed A. wrote:I agree. A physical modeled piano is much more expressive than any sampled piano, IMO.risome wrote:Pianoteq is by far the best virtual piano bar none IMHO

Another grand is the most boring i can imagine these days.
But of course that‘s me.
But i hope Organteq comes one day. Didn‘t heard much after the sneak peak.

Would it be a good piano for very contemporary pop, like Tom Odell or Olafur Arnalds influenced stuff, which is a lot of delicate playing and extra felt? Might buy this for a song I'm finishing up for a singer right now... I think it's using the prepared Steinway preset from Pianoteq, modified some more.

Yes, I also have keyscape and there are some lovely sounds in there, a true labour of love....You can of course tweak pianoteq to get more interesting sounds, right up to ambient surreal type sounds, the (more expensive standard or pro) engine offers a lot of options up to per note and overtone editing...Cinebient wrote:Yes, but i still miss the more characterful keys like the Wing Tack piano in Keyscape in Pianoteq.Ed A. wrote:I agree. I generally agree with the excellence of pianoteq,
and the randomizer is over-the-top delightful,
but recently searched my plugins for a great general-purpose
grand piano, and somewhat to my surprise, the winners were
from IK's SonikSynth2
So I went to google for some confirmation/refutation
of this conclusion, and found this old piano-thread, that
I'm pretty sure predates the birth of pianoteq, but points to
some pretty decent pianos, that one might get cheap
when purchasing an old IK account somewhere

There is also a nice tip from Kim Lajoie relating to polyphony issues
on piano plugins. Maybe a Fathers Day sale for pianoteq will
magically appear?
Cheers
