Nope, the tutorial got mixed up with another document. It is almost done. Right now it's at 10 pages with more material to come, I'd say it'll be 20 pages by the finish.

It should make symptohm:melohman easier to figure out.

For the unfamiliar:
Imagine a well developed synth engine going into it's own take on Quad Frohmage but more developed so it's about as powerful as the actual synth engine.

Awhile back there were several people discussing if effects count as part of a synth. Having used Symptohm for some time I can say without question that either half is a powerful way of synthesizing sounds.

That depends on your idea of what synthesis is. This is mine.

A series of real or virtual circutry that can create new sounds from a oscillator and can do so in a predictable way over time.

Using that definition it could be argued Symptohm is two synthesizers; both very different and equally good. If my definition isn't acceptable then Symptohm is a powerful synth engine that has been designed in concert with it's "effects" section to create sounds that are exceptionally capable. It is a design where the effects are part of the system of making sound and to me, makes the entire system a massive way of changing and thinking of sound along with an excellent patch manager and plenty of control capabilities.

btw, for those unfamiliar pt 2.

the Meleohman part is a series of setups that are user programmable and able to take the keyboard and use it as part of the controller system. The most familiar use is taking an octave of your synth and using them to map the 12 patches that make up a Meta Patch. And while this is correct and the patches are suggested to be designed as the first patch defining what it is and the next 9 to 11 being variations the idea of variations doesn't mean simple, minor changes. Consider that you have a patch that sounds like a bunch of similar patches that will morph in time to your settings and play those settings. But there are other modes besides just morphing that way, there are several types of modifications in the Melohman module which work by filter ratios and other unique and useful ways.

So:
unique synth engine
unique performance feature that uses a osctave of you synth. Remember too that miniMonster has the Melohman features as well....
