For about three years now I have been using GigaPiano which came with my first version of GigaSampler. I think it is time to move up but I am not sure what to go to, and I don't have a way of personally demoing samples. Anyone have a suggestion for something to run in Windows? I prefer something in Giga format so it will load into various samplers but if the sound is good and the price is right I will consider something built on an NI engine.
I want it for practicing classical and playing ballads. To me, those are the most demanding. Rock and roll piano is much more forgiving.
Any suggestions?
Robert

All I need to be happy is one more VSTi.

Try PMI's Bosendorfer 290 Grandioso for Giga,

It's fantastic, I've got the Exs version, which is basically the same but in a different format

There's a loads of quality pianos around at the moment.
Two I have and think are excellent are the White Grand and Black Grand from Sampletekk.
From your post, the Black Grand would probably be more appropriate.

Don't just limit yourself to checking out those two though. There are others by PMI, Vintaudio, Bardstown that are well worth looking into.
Do a search over on Northernsounds and you'll find a load of piano sample discussions for more info. too.
