I was hoping someone could reocommend a book for synth programming. I don't mind if it is particular to one synth but I need to start somewhere. I get off work or class all day and I sit ready to get to work on my music but i feel very unproductive because of my lack of experience.
So any help would be great

You could start with the 'synth secret' series at www.soundonsound.com. Just search the site and you'll find it, it's a set of over 30 articles about all parts of synths.

Those articles are an excellent place to start. But also--keep experimenting. That's how I created some of my best synth patches. I'd try to create one type of sound, and ended up in a totally different direction. Came up with some fantastic patches!
I've been doing this for 20 years now and it's still exciting.
