yeah with higher contrast is so much nicer.

It hurts my eyes. Given that it is all done in a vector art package, do you have any idea how difficult it is to get the contrast that low in the first place? Every object has transparency plus there is a huge rectangle wiht a transparency gradient over the whole GUI to reduce the contrast even further [you'll notice that things in the centre of the interface are a little brighter than around the edges].

I have to concur with the other two that I also prefer more contrast on the GUI, that's of course a matter of taste...
