Hey guys, I'd really like your advice on this. I've been fiddling around with pianos vsts for a while and I'm familiar in general with EQing, layering and other ways to process sound. But I feel like I'm missing out on something when I compare my stuff to commercial songs. Somehow I can't get my piano sound to sound as strongs while still keeping it clean. Maybe it's all about compression?! Thanks for your help!

Layering.
Using Nexus piano presets and Truepiano's.
He was using 1 for Nexus and 2 for Truepiano's.
So i believe it was about 3 layerd chords...
Don't use reverb, attack very fast and use them all dry!

Thanks a lot, daan! I have just opened up a new project trying to recreate that kind of heavy piano. And it absolutely worked out! I piled 3 piano chords on top of each other, eqed them and panned them a little. Sounds great! I always thought that by layering it might become muddy but it really depends on the sounds you select and the way you eq them.
