I want to make a sound like this in Serum or Massive, but i don't know how to make it.
It's a riser / sweeping sound that seems to have alias-like artifacts going through it.

In this track you can hear it clearly at 05:28, and a long one starting at 05:37.

Hi zeep,

that sounds like a typical FM sound. I made a similar with zebra in 2mins:

just take an OSC as a source for an FMO, I pitched the OSC +12st up and modulated both the pitch of the osc and the pitch of the FMO with an Envelope (mid Attack and Decay). THats it, some delay and reverb and you're finished

Your patch is very similar indeed! I don't own Zebra but i do own FM8, i think with your tips i can make something very close.

yes it should work with FM8 too.

Basically yes, but must use some tricks, because fm8 has one pitch envelope only.

Hi Chris that is so much better than my attempt. Thanks for taking the time to help.

I'm at the point where i sometimes understand fm synthesis, and then later on it seems i only thought i did.
Practice makes perfect though so it will take a bit more time
