sounds pretty apparent just have my work cut out for me as far as this goes. Sounds like there is some granular + subtractive synth going on. some noise being filtered in/out. This sounds amazing to me. :p

seems like a (synth)string pad with some heavy phasering going on and maybe some noise indeed

Really nice sound, I wonder if perhaps he is playing an arp melody but with a longer attack and release and a lot of delay or reverb so that the notes are melding into eachother to form that texture that sounds like a chord. I think if you did this with a slow high pass sweep drowned in reverb - and then made up the lower end with something like a low triangle wave, add in a bit of noise and sweep that a bit with some delay and reverb sprinkled on top and I think you could get something close.
