A formant is a preferred resonating frequency of any acoustical system.

2. Synths: Sytrus, Orangator 2

3. Company: Image Line, unofficially

4. Web References: I think a search in the Sytrus forum should cover that :)

5. Preferred synthesis method (if any):

I like hybrid synthesis, but I would love additive if there were some really cool tools to work with. I don't think there's a synth for what I want in that regard though. I wish there was a synth that would allow you to define a series of waveshapes with coordinates at specified points in time and have it interpolate with various curves between the waveshapes.

6. Any other comments about your work you would like to present?

Yes actually. I don't think a little pride goes amiss with some of my work. Namely, the piano and cello presets are realistic enough, to my satisfaction, that they can be used in non-electronic contexts. I'm happy with the quality of the presets I've done, but I don't attribute it to any special skill of mine - just a bunch of free time and a meticulous drive.

5.) FM, Physical modelling, sampling
6.) Making good presets is harder than programming

2. What synths you have worked on: Presets of mine are included with Rhino, Cameleon, and Soup. I've worked with too many hardware and software synths to list but started learning programming back in 1979.

3. What developers you have worked for: Big Tick Audio, Camel Audio, Progress Audio, Image Line, Cakewalk, and others.

4. Any web references: Visit me at: http://bigtick.pastnotecut.org/djsmaurer/

5. Prefered synthesis method (if any): Hybrid combinations; give me something fresh.

6. Any other comments about your work you would like to present: My goal in programming is to provide usable sounds with a fresh twist. The instruments must be able to offer the musician opportunities for expression so the synthesizer can "sing".

1. State name.
Ugo (Chris Sciurba)

2. What synths you have worked on.
Synths I have programmed on (as opposed to synths I've simply used)...some have seen a lot of time from me, others not so much (and I know my way around many more.)

Software:
Ugo: all of my VST releases (link in sig)
Wusik.com: Wusikstation
discoDSP: Vertigo
White Noise Audio: Additive, Dopplemangler, Zero Vector
NI: Massive, Absynth, Kontakt
Livelab: LiveSlice
reFX: Vanguard
Divine Machine: Krishna
Algomusic: M42, String Synth, M51, Cynthia
and of course...Synthedit.

Hardware:
Ensoniq: ASR-X, Fizmo, ESQ-1
Korg: N5, DW-6000
Akai: AX73, AX80
Kawai: K5000
Technics: WSA1
DSI: Evolver
Waldorf: Microwave XT

3. What developers you have worked for.
Devs I've either done work for, or just contributed/assisted sound work to: Dangerous Bear, Nucleus Soundlab, discoDSP, Algomusic, White Noise Audio, Divine Machine, and of course, I do a lot of sound design for my own synths. I also did some sound design work for the soundtracks I wrote for two of Illuminati Films' productions. (Soundtracks available for download from my site.)

4. Any web references.
Info, patches, audio examples, and music can be found at my site. http://www.ugoaudio.com

5. Prefered synthesis method (if any).
im typically less interested in standard rompler work (unless the synth offers extensive/powerful synthesis options to work with), otherwise I'm probably up for working with anything. (FM is my weakest point.)

6. Any other comments about your work you would like to present.
Though it depends on the synth I'm working with, the majority of my sounds tend to lean heavily towards the synthetic and rhythmic/moving.

7. Contact info.
All my contact info can be found at http://www.ugoaudio.com, or just PM me here.

(BTW, even though Geeseaplenty was jokeing, check out his excellent work on my synth, String Theory.)

I guess you guys might know me from my various synth 1 sounds and for Pro53.. I also designed the presets for one commercial synth - NBM Grenade :)

But I'm not as pro as you guys :)

Oh and hardware synths I've worked on are:

Roland Fantom - Im king at making lush pads on that!
EMU Proteus 2000 - Growly bass with them filters
Yamaha CS1x - My second ever synth
Roland SH1000 - My first ever synth as a child!
Korg Microkorg - I've made a few sounds for this too
Nord Lead - Borrowed it for a while

Most my sounds I want to keep for myself so I have my own signature sound when I make tracks. I dont wanna make a tune then hear the same sound used by 20000 other artists.. But then again you hear the same guitar sound in thousands of rock songs so I guess I have my head up my own arse!

LinPlug: Cronox/Sophistry, Albino
U-He: Zebra(s), Filterscape
CamelAudio: Cameleon5000
FabFilter:Twin

I was the Factory algorithm and preset designer for Eventide Inc. for too many years where I built the libraries for the 4000 series, 7000 series, Orville and Eclipse. The later two I also did the principal product design for.

3. What developers you have worked for ?

The short list...
Eventide
IZotope
Ableton

FabFilter
The Sound Guy

4. Any web references ?

Some, I have never googled myself...

5. Preferred synthesis method (if any) ?

Any source may be considered an oscillator...

6. Any other comments about your work you would like to present ?

I can not top biomechanoids reply to this, but my shameless plug is that I am looking for the right gig.
